I am being brave, placing myself in the line of fire. :D

Here is something simple and green. If anyone would like to bring their examples on-board, please do. Otherwise, a simple C&C would be sufficient!

Thanks for looking.

AND a question.

I have another photo that I wanted to put with this one. It was rotated, cropped to 3:2, and saved. When I attempt to place it in my gallery here, it shows needing rotation (and the icon is scrunched), but will not do so ..even after uploading.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I like you picture a lot. I think the contrast of the green plant and the brown forest floor is very nice. I also think that you made a good choice in your depth of field as the plant is for the most part in focus, while the background is still enough out of focus to not be distracting.

Thanks very much.

To be honest, I was not thinking too much about the particulars of the shot. I just knew that there was beauty there, and I hoped to capture it. Maybe I was fortunate.

I do need to not get so caught in the moment that I forget to pay attention to such as mentioned.

Thanks again.

Both are beautiful, Mark. :)

The first makes me think of waking form a dream ..with a journey through the wood in the expectation.

Very nice.

I like the filtered lighting of the scene - no edgy shadows cast by the plant. The texture of the pine needles and their earthy color helps the green to pop out - almost 3D. The focal point is good showing intricate patterns of water on the surface of the leaves. Simple subject - very nice.

Cheers

When I opened that, I just said "Oh, man" !

Kewl.

How bout a green dog-toothed cat snake?

GF1 + PL45/2.8

That is a beautiful shot. That looks like a flash shot, but then again not. Particulars?

It IS green !

Simple ? ? ....not to sure ! :D

I really like the foreground and all out of focus. Great shot.

Thank you!

No, I did not use flash. It is shot with a GF1, the 20mm, shutter at 1/800, Aperture f1,7. If you let the cursor reside a bit in upper right corner, you get the shooting conditions.

Sunlight came in between the threes and hit the "greens". I just shot it. I have then adjusted the image in Silkypix 30SE: Cropped to rectangular, sharpened and adjusted contrast, and highlights.

Nothing more :-)

I have just discovered that one can adjust the high, medium an dark areas when adjusting contrast. Thus I could actually let the background go completlly dark, but I choose to keep a bit of light on it (brown "spots").

Sorry for my english here. ;-)

Kind regards,
Anders

Thanks! Hand held shot, light was pretty poor, so had to bump up to ISO800. I was lucky enough that the snake started feeling curious, so I have a whole sequence of shots of him uncoiling his head and taking a look around him.

I also discovered today that 2 stops is about as far as the OIS on the PL45 can be pushed, and even that is not guaranteed. :(

From a recent visit to Palm Springs - taken with Lumix G1.

Thanks for looking

Those are great, Rick. Amazing how we make a trip, shoot something like the green PEN ..and can use it later.

I mentioned earlier how I wanted to post a second pix ..well, here it is. May not be that simple ..but it sure has the GREEN! :)
