swan

a nice swan pic rather spoiled by the totally unreal look to the wings and body ,selective lowered contrast , or hdr gone wrong , the head and kneck appear totally different in finish but that does not seem right either .
if the original is RAW then I am sure there is a good pic in there somewhere .

i made 2 or 3 copies of this image and you are right i think this is hdr gone mad looks like i have posted wrong image.... now i cant find the original still learning about all this... but i have taken your advice on board and i will try not to mess up my pics again..... stevie.

hello gale, natures lighting my fault hdr image gone wild......... i will stick to natures lighting.... am new to dslr photography its a lot to learn and i am taking everyones comments on board i really appreciate them ..... here is another swan for you.... stevie.

no problem Steven, hdr does horrible things to whites and greys if you dont watch out carefully , I have had a bash at recovering some of the brightness ,colour and got rid of the horrid (in my oppinion ) blue highlights in the water in favour of a more natural look ,It would be easy with an original RAW file but I think its looking a bit better here ,(hope you dont mind)

hi and thank you loads for taking my image and working on it, when i look at both images now to compare them (well many a mistake i made) after a long day at work and to come home and find my swan shot revived well , i am very pleased you took the time out to do this..... thanks. If you have any pointers on shooting subjects in white i sure would appreciate them. one last question how did you get the horrible blue tone out of the water.

steve.
