And the general consensus seems to be, in this forum at least, that the HS10 has a problem with its low battery indicator. This manifests itself in the warning (single red bar - not flashing) coming on waaaayyyyyyyy too early, even if you have the battery type set corectly. However, the camera then seems to soldier on for sometimes several hundred shots before it gives up entirely.Several reviews indicated a very short battery life. After some initial "misfires" with batteries which I will chalk up to an old set of rechargeables that had just been recharged too many times, I've had great experience with the battery issue. I'm using Eneloops and after charging them I'm getting well over 500 (probably over 700 the last time) shots BEFORE the red light (not the flashing one) comes on.Several reviews indicated a very short battery life. You'e got it in one. We are all hanging on Fuji and 1.02...... or should that be 2.0Appreciate the input-appears that battery life is "normal" but indicator needs some work.
I agree it is the battery indicator at fault. You'e got it in one. We are all hanging on Fuji and 1.02...... or should that be 2.0Appreciate the input-appears that battery life is "normal" but indicator needs some work.![]()
Nice ill be sure to buy rechargable batteries for sure... never the less i wouldnt want to end up buying batteries all the times.. But which brands are best? alkaine rechardable batteries ?I'm using NiMh rechargeables 2700mah. I took 388 pics on Saturday and 10 short videos. The camera was switched on and using the LCD screen for 3.5 hours continuosly during that time. No battery warning light yet.

WTF!Roy,
I have only taken approx 2000 pictures, but here's what I got (very little flash use):
Original supplied alkalines - approx 300
Energizer Lithium Ultras - approx 1200
New Pearstone 2900 MAH (discharged/charged 3x) - 480 and still going
(note - battery warning came on at approx 80 shots)
New eneloops ready to ge next.
I'm happy with the battery usage, and the camera!
