HS10_Country Drive...

Such a lovely day I thought I'd take a little drive in the country...

Even made some friends along the way...

"Hurry up kids, it's time for your nap...!"

"Everybody settled in...?"

"Good night...!"

"What...?!"

So nice to have some quiet time...

Even found a few more Murals for my collection...

But where ever I went I was sure to mind my manors...

If you like, you can check out the rest of this album...

Hope you enjoy... :)

Thanks for sharing your country moment.

Question: If you were to delete this album from your gallery to make room for new shots, would the pictures remain on this thread?

Probably not since they wouldn't be located at the address the image links point to... ;)

Really good shots, wizzard.. :)
Did you use any mode in particular?
Thanks, g4rvd4...! :)

I usually shoot in P mode and take several shots changing AE from Multi to Spot to Average and see which gives the best exposure... I also use different EV settings to fine tune the exposure...

Nice set there Wizzard! The little ducklings in the water is precious. Also like the horses.

What a lovely series. I feel like I went along with you. Great job there, Wizzard!
Thanks, Jada, it was a great day......! :)

I made two mistakes though; I forgot to take my mono-pod (stupid, stupid, stupid...!) and I think I was shooting a little over exposed... Not too bad, but a little for some shots...

Thanks, Raj...!

She was very protective of them little guys... Made sure she took them out in the middle of the lake for their nap... ;)

I don't think I did my best but they aren't terrible either... I should have shot the lanscapes in RAW as I found lots of that mushy-ness (at distance) in the jpeg's like what you showed the other day... I should have paid more attention to exposure as well, but that's part of the learning curve I guess... ;)

Most of the time I was just so excited to be out of town and finding a few animals to shoot that I completely spaced out... :p

I was about to ask whether you took the long shots handheld. I would be happy with those results, you seem to be handling the camera better as time goes on. Good stuff.

Little bit of burn around the little ducklings neck. Did you use EV only to adjust exposure or did you play with DR as well? Suggestions in others thread that DR has little effect and this will be a problem to watch more so than others with this camera..

Inspiring shots ....make me anxious to get my hands on my new camera tomorrow. These shots look like they were taken in PA but I assume they're from WA. Very similar geography - at least in these pics. ( however we have nothing that comes close to the spectacular Olympic Mts. out there.)

Thanks, Dan..!

They ain't bad but I think I can do a little better... I was just excited and shooting too fast without thinking enough... :p

No, I just leave DR at 200%... I was mostly working with AE (multi, spot, average) and fine tuning with EV, but I'd forget now and then in the heat of the moment when changing scenes, ie; when shooting with mostly dark water or forrest in the shot and then changing composition to light colored fields/grass or sky in the shot, or vice versa, I'd forget to pay attention and compensate...

I also had a lot of stinkers from camera shake (720mm shots) because I forgot my dang mono-pod...!!! :p

For those interested, in the gallery album there are two shots showing the reach of that lens... There's a wide angle shot of a boat all the way across the lake (it's tiny) and then a 720mm shot of the boat...

I was impressed... ;)

Thanks, Tim...! :)

Ya, my truck isn't in the best of shape so I'm hesitant to go very far... I'm in the process of finding a decent, dependable, used van so I can take some longer journys from home... I've got some nice weekend and day trip ideas and the Olympic's are one of them, that and Mount Rainier... ;)

And what a wonderful drive in the country you apparently had. You sure captured some really really nice to view images. Good job and thanks for sharing.
