Challenge 4 - CHAT - Black and White

Hi !

I did put the picture in a second time as a reply to my first post having pbase hosting it this time. I hope you guys don't mind if it is in the thread a second time. Once fotki will be up and running again I guess it would show up in the original post again. At least, I hope it. Got a few MB of pictures hosted on that site.

Yep, I missed that! OK, so after Church this morning I'm going
ahunting!! Have a wonderful day all!
AFTER? How about during? I have some photos somewhere of a really intense preacher giving a sermon on something particularly energizing. I liked them.

Kate - Love your pic! I was up the coast all weekend hoping to capture something like that.

David - beautiful too, I assume you have a big stick beside the front door (for any boys) ;c)

Hi Paul,

Gee, I've just turned red all over! This picture really did come together nicely. I think its the best pic I've ever taken. Interesting that I shot this on the way home from work. I didn't have the kids along, so for the first time, I was able to wander around without any cares except trying to take some photos. It was a really nice feeling. I didn't have to worry about the 3-yr old climbing the fence or the 9 yr old complaining he didn't want to be here, etc. I felt free to concentrate on photos.

So far, I have really enjoyed these challenges, because they've got me out thinking about photography in ways I wouldn't have before. Gee, I even visited a few websites on photographic composition for challenge 5. Believe it or not, I never knew about the rule of thirds or dynamic whatever they call it. So I have Myron to thank for that.

Wow! 18 entries posted so far, and already there's at least 5 winners.

There are so many good pictures here (and many to come, no doubt) that I think the challenge is not the picture taking, it's the voting!!!

Thank you!:) I just bought a nikon CP5700 and betrayed my good ol' canon powershot G1.

I lack in experience and competence in photography, but graduate studies in pure mathematics are too boring so I find entertainment in making self portraits:)

I had a hard time choosing between 'bald' shot and this one, though:

:)

Asya,

I've checked out your website http://www.myownself.com/ and I must say it's almost unfair, you are a true artist!

How long have you done self portraits?

Have you some theatrical education too since you seem to be pretty skilled in makeup for diffrent shots, and seem to have a lot of props to play with?

Just throw those mathematic books (I hate math) and go pro with your artistic talents. I love it!

Petra

PS, maybe I should buy a signed print before you become too famours ;-)

Aysa-

I can only echo everything that Petra has already said. Your website absolutely blew me away.

Awesome shot! You must have made many attempts to finally get the shutter to go off at just the right the time. Way cool!

Yap.
Thats the way to do it.

Just insert the url which points to your picture and it will show up in the challenge thread in a very neat way.

Looking foward to see your entry.
