Here are two photo's of last weekends Drag Race event at my local track. I took over 350 pics and out of the 350 only about 50 was bad (hard to get 'fast action' shots at nite with the G2). I am actually proud that they came out pretty good (100% better than my first attempt at racing shots). As soon as I get some free time I will upload most of these shots from the event to my website and post the link for those who are interested. Enjoy the pics.

PS: Unfortunately I didn't get to race at this event but plan to next Sunday.

Great shots! I tried this once for a few minutes as cars were passing on the highway. It's no easy task to keep those cars from blurring (while still getting the background motion blurred)! Mind sharing what shutter speeds you used for those shots?

Sure, if somebody can give me the name of a program that will view EXIF data, or where to download it? (unless there is another way to view it w/o the zoombrowser software- dislike zoombrowser).

Hello to a fellow racer. Actually I stopped crewing on cars ten years ago. Since you have a G2 and go to the races, I was just going to post an open question about using the G2 (maybe the G3) at drag races. I have a Pro 90 now and can see the image as I "crop/zoom" the shot through the viewfinder. How do you do this with the G2 to ensure that you don't cut off part of the car as you pan with it? You can view some of my shots at http://www.pbase.com/phred426 . I'm thinking of getting a G3 to go with the Pro 90 for starting line shots. I hate the idea of spending the money for the D60 just to get two extra MB's of resolution and ETTL. Back in the seventies my Dad and I were amatuer race track photographers (they gave us press passes for the use of our pictures) so I'm used to using 35 mm slr cameras and seeing the picture as I take it. I like to try and get the car full frame at the time I take the shot and not have to do much/any cropping with Photoshop 6.0 at home. I'm thinking that for fast sports shots, the G2/G3 won't be the best for me. What's your feelings on them?

Thanks you;

Fred.

I like the photo's, they let you see he speed of the cars.

Do you have ever made some photo's of cows (the anilamls). I just started a database with pictures of cows all over the world.

Hey Herman. LOL @ "the animals". ;) I thought about your request this morning when I was out snapping pictures and could have gotten a great sunrise shot of Canadian cows grazing in a pasture for you, but I was driving on a highway with a MAC truck right behind me so I couldn't stop. Do you have any pictures of cows from Ontario, Canada? I'll try to get some before it gets too cold. I noticed that the link to this page: http://62.131.59.136/ekoe_archief_item10.html was broken.

Michael

BTW, these are the pictures I did manage to get this morning. It was a great day for shooting, besides the cold: http://www.pbase.com/mooremwm/wayhome
