I wanted to be able to take multiple shots at once by keeping the shutter depressed.

That didn't work. I have "High Speed Shooting" set to "ON".

When I press the shutter button all I get is a single shot.

Is there a way to take multiple shots at once?

Near the shutter button and beside the EV button is a button that allows you to change to 7 shot burst mode or best pic mode. Press this button, with three rectangles on it and turn dial to select shot mode you want.

I trust this is what you are looking for.

This is correct, but if you aren't quick enough when going to the 7 shots and reverts back to one.

Hope it works out for you. Good luck.

****, I see that someone answered your bracketing question so I just wanted to add that the HIGH SPEED SHOOTING option allows a reduction in focus time for a quicker shutter response.

In that same button menu resides a 'zoom' funtion. If you haven't played with this, you should. It's a lot of fun. I just took some shots of the moon using the zoom function and the results are really cool. :-)

Best frame capture is just the same as the burst mode with the option to store frames before the shutter is pressed . The camera makes no choices about the frames saved.

Don't forget to go into the burst mode SET-UP (displayed when you select a burst mode...) to set the fps (3, 5, 7, or 10) and the amount of frames you want before and after the shutter is pressed (e.g. 4 before and 2 after).

This is a great mode when you know something is going to happen but you know you'll probably just be too late on the shutter to catch it

Nb. the camera buffers all frames whilst the shutter is half depressed.

is there any chanche to take more than 7 pics in continous mode?
what if I use higher JPG compression and lower resolution?
on many cameras you can shoot as long card is full
