i took a trip to Frankfurt and Vienna in February this year. It was wonderful. I met some truly great people - very sweet, kind and helpful.

i loved the cafe, the building, everything. i took some snap shots and wanted to share with you. Hope you can spare some time to take a look and comments welcome, thanks

Most of them are very good, and capture Vienna well. IMO, this one
http://www.pbase.com/digitalnomad/image/123542196

could have been improved by aligning the shot against the door (the angle looks slightly off), and I would've considered a portrait orientation to accentuate the main subject (which I presume is the statue, although the doorway appears to be more in focus).

I see that you visited the parliament. It's a beautiful building. Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom stands outside. The Viennese joke that it's because you wouldn't find wisdom inside! :)

I am going to stay next month in Vienna for 3 days, same 5D2. It looks to me that nothing much to shoot there, typical Europe city. I might try train to Zaltsburg, at least some mountains are there.

Super nice pics.

Shows the mood of Vienna.

Took some pictures there last year. Nice place.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi!

I would really be surprised, if you find nothing interesting to shoot there!

I hope I can convince you about that with some pics in my Vienna galleries:

Of course Salzburg is a nice city too, but I am sure, you will find enough motives in Vienna...

Hope you will enjoy your trip!

the first one is Hallstatt a beautiful small village at 'Hallstätter See'

you can find it easily on google maps.

By car it is around 3 hours from Vienna and 2 hours from Salzburg.

the second one is 60 km more in the south - the mountain is called 'Grimming' and is located near the village Steinach (Steiermark)

but you can also find some mountains 1 hour (by car) south from Vienna - like Rax or 'Schneeberg' (about 1800m up to 2000m high) - on Schneeberg you can take a rack railway up to the mountain:

some trains are powered by 100 year old steam locomotoives

That is really cool, thanks!

Thanks for sharing! Always enjoy seeing someone's perspective of their travels. I especially enjoyed your people candids. It give a sense of the place and makes my image of that area warmer.

Thanks again!

Some images are okay, it seems very mixed, it does not show you have a certain style.

Your trying to do too much, If you just focus on making an image you would do alot better.

The other nice area that might be of interest to you is Wachau valley along the Danube, some 30 to 50 km upriver from Vienna (basically, from Melk down to Krems, perhaps Stockerau)

One can find interesting sights in Vienna, as long as one is willing to forego the standard touristy places; those are indeed typical European city scapes.

Thank you for your advise. If i have a chance in future, i love to check out the place you suggest "Wachau valley along the Danube".
