Responding to the demise of Olympus threads.

I don't often take pictures of flowers (heh) and have no current ones to share so that is why I shared a bird.

I do have to add though that some of you (ok, all of you) who shared in this thread thus far are doing a fantastic job. There is some nice creativity in the pp, and now I think I want an E-1 for the dreamy colour... sigh.

Without all the people telling me how doomed Olympus is, I would never have known . . . too busy enjoying using my E-3.

Many wonderful photos in this thread -- thanks to all for sharing them and to Bootstrap for starting it off. For what they're worth, here are two of mine.

Applause for the first hummingbird shot in particular. Wow.
Thank you.

I was lucky he spent more than a min going between those flowers before flying off.

The 50-200mm and bright sunlight gave me the shutter speed I needed. The second Hummingbird shot was at a much slower shutter speed - the flowers were in the shade.

Well here are two of my own.....hope you all enjoy them

Siegfried,
Thanks very much.

No secrets really. The Sigma 150 at these distances provides an extremely narrow DOF and has a rendering quality that's difficult to describe yet something that I've grown to like after using the lens exclusively for nearly 2 weeks.

In Lr 2 I reduce clarity then in Photoshop add back detail using Topaz Adjust. Very mild vignettes on most or all of the photos and with the Hibiscus photos, I reduce red saturation a bit.

Nice pictures!

I can't seem to find my flowers, but here's something from an OM-4, which became 'obsolete' before I was born. Like Bill (bootstrap) said about Olympus's future plans: "I've read all of the posts and don't care! My cameras all work extremely well."

Late to the party, and a Bump.
And now for something completely different...

OMG, my E-3 noise is so bad at high ISO I need to get a D3x pronto.
NOT!

Shot in 2008 when I was completely new to digital. All SOOC JPEG, available light, handheld, ISO 2000, with the 50-200SWD.

no PP other than a couple of small crops and downsizing to post.
I luv my E-3 and kit!!!
