ive been kinda iffy about getting this camera, how is the image quality of the camera? and what kind of batteries does it come with? is it good in night, macro, indoor, and low light shots? and feedback would help, thanks

No need to be iffy. It's a damn good camera for the money. The image quality is very good and it comes with a long life lithium battery; it also offers movie mode with sound, limited only by memory. Obviously the manual features aren't as numerous as on the Canon S30, but then you're paying much less for this one. It's still an excellent camera.

If you want to read a customer review, there is a good one on the DX4330 at http://www.amazon.co.uk

is it really necessar to get the dock? im ultra tight on money and rather spend the 80 dollars on the SD card than the dock, which batteries are better to use? recharble crv3 ones? or high nimh aa's?

No, there is no essential need for the dock, but it does make it much easier to transfer pictures to your PC; so, it is recommended. If you're ultra-tight with money I would suggest reconsidering your intention to buy a digicam at all - these are not machines for the cash strapped. Remember that you'll also need a decent PC and a suitable printer, together with the right type of paper. All of these are expensive. And if you want to have the pictures developed for you, this will cost a lot as well - much more than even APS photo development.

im not looking for a expensive dc, im just looking for a decent one for family and traveling, I don't plan on printing these pictures, just sending them via email, i have a fast computer (1.1ghz) so that wont be a problem

Just a brief comment- Markhad mentioned the Canon S30. The Kodak pictures, for emailing purposes, are just as good as the Canon S30. I just sold my S30 - it was just too difficult to use- too many features etc.

The Kodak is much simpler to use. But, for emailing, this may be overkill. A lesser camera, such as the DC3900, or even a good 2/0 million pixel camera (ie, the Kdak DC3400, out of prod.) are great.

It makes no sense to buy a digicam just for emailing. It's cheaper to buy a scanner and scan your normal film photos.
Anyway, DX4330 cams are going like hot cakes on ebay:

Can you use an external flash with any of these new cameras? Didn't see any place to hook one up.

Yes you can, see

Or if that doesn't work in this forum the heading is "how to use a real flash unit with your kodak.." by trog100

I was iffy about buying this cam too but I must say I am very happy with the shots. But that's me and my requirements and what suits me maynot suit someone else. There are stacks of comments about the 4330 throughout this group if you have a scan through the next few pages of subjects you'll find a lot of comments and feedback about it.

No, but why would you need one? If you really want one, go for a Canon G3, but it won't be cheap.

Don't just look at this group. There are a lot of pros here who are incredibly fussy and would not consider anything less than perfect. If you are just an ordinary guy looking for a camera for fun, a lot of the negative comments can safely be ignored.
