I am looking to buy a Minolta 7i soon and live in the Aldershot, Hampshire area of southern UK. Is there anyone from the UK that knows where I can get the best deal/package local to me?

I would prefer to get it from a reputable dealer so that I can possibly get some sort of customer service if I have problems, that is unless anyone has had a good experience with internet traders or other sources.

Yes really - Dixons have them on sale for £150 off RRP. This is about the same as the best online stores and warehouses. They also sell a nice leather antler bag that is exactly the right size for the 7i + lens hood.

Dont buy any of their batteries though - total s* t. LCE sell 1800 MAH Ansmann that are good with 2000 MAH on the way. Uniross fast charger works OK and so does Ansmann's

Very suprised you came up with good old Dixons Steve. Still it's all a saving.

I assume aswell that the charger coming with the camera is s* t. That's the feel I get from other forums about the "in-box" products.

Find the best price on the net (UK) and get Jessops to price match.

Havn't seen it cheaper yet. The charger is OK and quite useful for travelling (small, portable, dual voltage) but a conditioning charger is always better. Ansmann make a good one also.

Thanks Steve,

I think the other guys have a good point...price match with Jessops. At least then you are talking to a real camera buff.

What's a conditioning charger? Does it work the same as a normal one but better? Do they cost a lot?
