Greetings-

I have not posted recently for a number of reasons, one of which is travel. I have a collection of Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falklands from a February-March trip now up on Flickr at:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/bill_rosenthal/collections/72157623639606291/

Below are some teasers from the collection. Enjoy, and as always, comments and critiques are welcome.

All shots taken with the FZ-35.

-Bill

nice pics, i like them. There's a good eye behind viewfinder, but also a nice, compact, all-purpose camera, wich have anything you want, included a very interesting AVCHD lite video capability with a good stereo sound

That iceberg shot I really like and if I would have taken that one it would be on a frame hanging in my man cave.

I was wondering where you were lately.

What an incredible trip of a lifetime, Bill. I loved looking at all the photos on your site, as well as the written descriptions. The penguin shots were great, and I loved the old buildings and that one ship photo was wonderful. I also liked the other wildlife shots and the land/water-scapes. I can't imagine how many photos you started off with, but you got lots of keepers. I hope some of them are hanging on your walls.
The FZ35 looked like the perfect camera to take along. Thanks for posting.
Take care,
Daniel

...glad you liked them. And, yes, the camera did very well by me.

...I had the laptop along on the trip, as did most others. I trashed 2000 of the 3000 shutter clicks on site. Working and re-working a lot of the remainder has taken some time. What's missing from the Flickr site are the obligatory snaps of friends and Carol, and a lot of shots of purely personal interest.

The FZ35 did very well, especially considering the heavy glass that so many folks were hauling around. Nothing on the walls yet, but give me some time!

I enjoyed these very much especially the eye of the penguin group. It must have been a great experience.

Hi Bill,

I love all of these!!! The first shot is amazing, the third shot is too cute beyond words. I don't have time right now to look through the link, but trust me, I will come back to it and I'm looking forward to seeing the pics.

Carol

Really great photos! As a fellow FZ35 owner it is inspiring to see the potential of the camera in your pictures.

Bill, Thanks for the fine tour around the Antarctic ... Antarctica isn't on my travel bucket list - but maybe it should be.

Like several other posters, I especially enjoyed your "human remains" shots.

...considering how many people had impressively heavy glass on that trip, I think the little guy and I did well. At least I know that I don't have any residual back pain. ;)

...I would recommend at least putting it on the list. It is not something that I could have even imagined. Well worthwhile!
