With a GENESIS 200 - umbrella - an E300 equipped with a 70mm...just portraits for the moment...

Sometimes up front high above models - on the side with light from a north facing window - sometimes with a homemade reflector...I wish my ceiling was higher

:-)

Carlos
PS.One day I'll get the second light...

Convincing your wife that you need to raise the roof to get the best out of the lights will be the hard part :-]

Enjoyed viewing your play at lighting.

Good for you. You'll have a lot of fun with it - and it looks like you've got some fun models to work with! :)

Where you using a silver umbrella? Kind of looks that way. The type of umbrella/modifier can make a big difference in the quality of light.

Thank you for sharing. Playing with friends are always good fun like your showing us. It certainly looks like good times.
The old Kodak KAF used in your cam. is great.
Take care and well done.

I think I'm going to try removing the black covering of the silver umbrella, see how that works...they refer to it as "through" the umbrella...

Model was very cooperative yesterday...I don't know about today, unless I come up with another Ice-cream !

:-)

LOL - I know just what you mean about bribes. Been there - done that - still doing it with my boys!

I got a silver umbrella with my first studio lights - stopped using it right away as the lighting for people is quite harsh. Used white shoot through umbrellas for a while. Last year I purchased some photogenic eclipse umbrellas and I really like them. The metal spokes are covered with fabric, the black outside fabric is dense enough that I don't lose any light through them, and the quality of the light is very nice - soft and even.

Always something to spend money on in photography! ;)

These are great, Carlos, especially the last three. The fourth one is my favorite. You may have to put new locks on your doors when she is in Junior High!
