I spent the afternoon at a local restaurant/campground taking pictures. I think I love this Ezi! Any suggestions on this shot of the "decoy"? Others seem to find details that I overlook. She sure didn't mind me getting real close.........

Nice duck close up! I would like to see either the whle duck, or crop more from the right, and make more of a vertical portrait.

Also, the image appears to be oversharpened. If you look closely at the rear of the ducks head/neck area, you'll see all the tiny white speckles. This looks like an artifact from too much sharpening. Unless this duck just has dandruff :-)

Too much sharpening can also cause the image to loose fine shading detail, causing a loss of depth. This looks like the case here.

I always need to watch myself when sharpening. Sometimes I push it too far, but I'm learning to watch closely for the artifacts, and trying to keep these artifacts to an unnoticeable level.

Keep em coming!

This was with the Ezi and it's on normal......unless it changed by itself! I think it is a "duck problem" since I have been looking at other duck pictures from a different area, with the Uzi and they are there also. Honest!........ I don't know enough to be kidding you...........
Was this shot with the uzi or ezi, and what in-camera sharpness
setting do you use?

Maybe it's just tiny little water droplets :-)

I think its a good shot. i really like the brown/beige color of the duck. the sharpness appears be fine to me. seems like there is a pretty decent reflection of the duck in the water, unfortunately its cut off at the bottom of the frame. I think I would've tried to include the reflection in the shot.....definitely not necessary, but it would give the shot a different look. also by pulling back a little more to get the reflection, you probably would've also got the rest of the duck in the shot....once again its not necessary, but it also would give the shot a different look. Overall I think ya got yourself very nice shot.

Hi Julie,

How did you take bmp photos with UZI?

Excellent shots! You guys really make me feel either I am a photography moron or my UZI is a pirated version (only share the name with yours). :-) Congras on the photo!

Good points. I took so many pictures and this one just happened to be the most focused though not including the other aspects that you mention. I will start paying more attention to all of my framing....whether I think it might be the best one or not. Thanks for the input.

Vivian.......is it showing as a BMP? If so, I have no clue! It was a jpeg when I took it and I thought I saved it as such when I resized it......maybe it changed when I did that? As my husband says, "even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then". I, more often than not, feel just like you when looking at the beautiful work shown here.
