My 5D MKII HD video 24fps

On my tripod.

Took me 20 min to find the right fit ;-)

The lens is 16-35 2,8 L II USM.

Thanks! this video makes me want to go out for a ride.. and film it!.. wow..

I wonder how an IS lens (24-105 f4 kit) will deal with the rattle of the ride.. my car (M5) is quite stiff on the road..

It is always the darkest before it goes totally black...

Very nice. What settings was the camera on? P mode? What aperture and ISO?

Thanks!

How did you mount the camera? I love driving and would love to do something like this. Nice ride too. Sporting an R8, myself, and I'm not sure where I would mount a camera.

Manual mode. ISO 400 I believe. Aperture 11 as I remember.

But the exposure is a bit over I should have closed the aperture more. Next Time.

Regardless of the quality of the video, I find your style of driving rather dangerous. Its people like you who are responsible for horrible road accidents, because they were overspeeding and not maintaing saftey distnace towards the car in front of them. If you want to try out your toy go to a race course.

What I find hillarious though is that you have the guts to put a video of yourself breaking the law on the web. Neither police nor prosecutors are stupid these days.....

Was he breaking any laws? And I thought German roads are reknown for speed compared to France.

Very nice and steady video. I had tried a couple of times shooting from inside the car and was never this nice - I hand held the camera. Wander how you can make it so steady with the cam on the tripod will driving inside the car. Can share with me how you fix it? Thanks!! d;)

reknown for speed? Welll, if he was driving on german roads there is a speed limit of 100 Km/h on non-autobahn roads. Sorry but the way he drives and overtakes is just plain irresponsible and would be considered general neglience driving in GErmany. I ll watch this vid agian. If it is a german road I am gonna report it. I have seen too many people die because of drivers like him. A teacher and his daughter from my school died when some guy "testing" his sports car crashed into the side of their car.

A race course is better suited to this kind of test drive. Dangerous for oncoming traffic, animals crossing the road... I wish there were a world with no cars ;-)

Is he nicked then?

You have to prove the other cars are not simply slow and there is no overtaking allowed, the sort of highway code and driving customs that are allowed in that part of the country, etc.

I think the wide angle lens overemphasizes the sense of speed of passing by cars.

There are many videos like this with fisheye lenses, gives a nice effect especially at night.

The wide angle emphasize the impression of speed.

I did 210 Km/h (130 mph) twice as top speed only when the road was "clear" (no oncoming traffic or car in front of me). The road was dry.

When the "time window" for overtaking is short you have to be close to the vehicle in front of you. As long as your breaking & accelerating power is more than the vehicle in front of you, it's ok to me.

The speed was indeed over the limit allowed but considering all those factors the only person endangered was me and, believe me, I'm no candidate for death wishes.

You can't, honestly, put my driving in the same bag as this guy for example :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlmaKe6Inyk

299 Km/h = 185 Mph !!

The one who have never exceeded the speed limit can point his finger at me, for the others you can cut the lecture !

This is a photo forum and we have diverted from the main subject.
The video has been removed from YouTube considering the "buzz" generated.
I will post picture of my rig as many of you have asked for it.
Sorry for my english, as some of you may have guessed, I'm from Europe.
