Toronto area members, Photo show...

I saw it. Strange that the best exhibits of the new cameras are on Friday, and they are not repeated on Saturday or Sunday.

And I can't make it. :-(
Just to let anyone in the Toronto area know that there's a camera
and digital imaging show this weekend (Fri-> Sun),

I went last year and was disappointed. It was like paying to go
into Henrys downtown store. It might be worthwhile if it is free.
I didn't realize that it was Henrys only until I got there. I'm going to be writing them a nasty letter saying how lousy their show was (I've been to over 100 tradeshows over the years).

As for inconvenient, for downtown dwellers it is but it's more convenient for out of towners as they can just use the highway system to get there, plus the parking is FREE. And the carless can take the TTC there...actually that's how I got there; take the Malton 58B (or D on weekends I believe) from Lawrence West station right to the International Centre, but you have to pay an extra fare when you get off the bus to compensate Mississauga transit.

If yes, did you get to try the new Canon G3?
I went...for the most part it was like a trip to Henrys but with very little stock (in other words, it was lousy)! I've been to over 100 tradeshows over the years, and this was in the bottom 5...I expected lots of dealers, great prices, accesories, etc. Instead you paid to be bombarded by Henrys advertising about their seminars, etc. And if you wanted to buy something you had to crowd around their counter and wait through 1/2 an hour of pushing and shoving.

Anyway, I didn't bother with Canon...my only interest was Olympus (for the latest 10x) and Panasonic (for their new 12x).

There was nothing to see.

The only thing of interest was the seminars. They were free, but many of them were much shorter versions of the ones you pay to see at the Henry's School.

There were lots of information seminars, but unfortunately, I had only slept for one hour the night before, and I couldn't stay awake through them. Add a public transit trip, 1 1/2 hours to get there, 1/2 wait for a bus to come home and another 1 1/2 hours on the bus while wanting to do nothing but close my eyes. Henry's - I'm not happy!!

Enough time for a nap ;) I know what you mean, it can take a long time to travel around the GTA using public transportation.
