Just got back from Sophia in Bulgaria, took the new 75mm summicron which proved to be an amazing lens on the EP2. The amount of detail in the files is incredible, still haven't had time to print anything up.

Getting the hang of this manual focusing thing is quite tricky especially for shots where people are moving! Many shots didn't make it but here are a few of my favourites so far, all shot wide open at f2 in Raw converted in Lightroom

and this one was the 20mm 1.7

What´s that noise?

From one of the Canon Forums:

Hi Alistair

Yes I am using the VF2 and it it superb for focusing when combined with the sensor stabaliser which does seem to make the image less juddery! If the subject is moving I won't have time for any x7 zooming but if they are stationary I usually do.

I would like to see a firmware change allowing the return to full view to be activated by half-pressure on shutter, like the panasonic camera, the current method of pushing the OK button forces you to rest the weight of the camera on the lens barrel which can cause mis-focusing. I would imagine I will get better with practice but took many more out of focus than in, of course most of those were people walking towards me at around 15-20 feet so that would be problematic anyway.

Main thing is I am really enjoying using this combo, including the MF bit, and the results are more rewarding when you have had to contribute something else to the process of making an image.
