I am using Photoshope 7 at home and read about the ICC profile for the D7i that Minolta offers. On there software page they post the following:

"This ICC Profile is useful in managing color when the image files from the DiMAGE 7i are opened with supporting ICC (International Color Consortium) Color Management System applications such as Photoshop 6.0. You do not need this ICC Profile for color matching on the DiMAGE Viewer Utility or the DiMAGE Viewer."

After downloading and installing the profile I see no change in the Photoshop pictures taken with the D7i. I then when under "Color Settings" to see if there was an option added for the working spaces, but there was nothing.

Can anyone help?

Leah,

I downloaded the 7i ICC profile and followed the instructions provided by Minolta to add it to Windows XP. I went into Windows and verified that the file was there. Minolta said it would work in PS6.

Next, I printed out your instructions on how to set it up in PS. However, when I try to locate the profile in PS, it just isn't there. When I tried to add it, PS told me that it couldn't be added because it didn't exist. This was in the "working spaces" area so I couldn't go any further.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Try to manually copy the file to c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color.

If you right click on the file does it now say "uninstall profile" instead of "install profile" if it still says "install profile" try it again. I really don't know what could be happening.

I do know I see a difference in color when I use this profile compared to the sRGB profile. On most images it looks better.

Also, I had it wrong at one point. You don't need to convert your photo to the dimage 7 profile. Just assign the 7i profile and then convert to your preferred space, either sRGB or Adobe RGB.

Where's Dominic Chan? He might be able to help if this doesn't work

I installed and uninstalled several times both automatically and manually. I get the same screen. It does not show the Dimage or Minolta ICC profile. I tried the add feature, found the Minolta7 file in the list but I get a message that it is not a RGB profile.

The file I have is "MLTDiM7.icc" I can email it to you if you like. Send me your email address: [email protected].

So when your in the color settings dialog box (ctrl+shift+k), under the working spaces, RGB drop down list it has Minolta Dimage 7 listed, but then gives an error? All I can think of is you have a bad file?

Hey there Guys and Gals,

I just installed the MLTDiM7i.icc file with no problem. Ok, at first I was wondering what was wrong the setting was not showing up. Then I checked the advanced button at the top of the Color Setting page that PS has. It then listed the Minolta Dimage 7i as one of the profiles. That was it. Thanks for the help.

Leah, I just emailed you. I would appreciate your sending me the file. I have MLTDiM7i listed in Windows/system32/spool/drivers/color but when I go to the color settings dialog box in PS6, nothing shows up under Minolta or Dimage. Under properties, it shows as an icc file. When I try to add it, I get an error message that MLTDiM7i is not an icc file. I am baffled...Thanks

I noticed that all the ICC profiles for my Epson 785EPX printer are shown when I open the RGB working space. Is it possible that by my installing these profiles, PS6 cannot recognize the MLTDiM7i profiles? I even downloaded the ICC profiles for the 7 camera and they didn't show up either. I think it may be a PS6 problem. Any help to solve it would be appreciated.
