My girlfriend accidently deleted a movie file of our Canon G2. Is there any way to get the file back?

Maybe. There are several data recovery things around. One I know of was free up until July, called Digital Image Recovery or DIR for short. My girlfriend accidently deleted a movie file of our Canon G2. Is

I might have the free file here someplace, I used it a while back
but I had overwritten the microdrive so much is was apparently
hopeless.
Important thing that... DO NOT write to your CF or MD until you get
the file recovered!!

Drat! I just missed this message or I could've gotten it out to both of you in one go.Could you send it to me too? Thank you!.
Received - I am using a card reader - no problem it works(!) Thank you!Drat! I just missed this message or I could've gotten it out to
both of you in one go.
Reason I'm not putting it at my web space is because of the
(il)legality of that.
Hope no one else will want it! ;-)

Hi ,
I have just downloaded the Digital Image Recovery freeware from
Bob, but I couldn't recover my accidentaly deleted images. I just
recover the protected ones. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Does
anyone have tried it with Sony's MSAC-PC2 PC (Card adaptor for
Memory Stick), or with the DSC-F707 Sony camera?.
By the way, what is CF or MD?
Thank you very much.
Gustavo.
I somehow pushed the post button too soon, before I had entered my
reply...
Anyway, I was going to add that I too have a copy of the original
freeware zip file, although I have never used it...
I did find, however, an interesting article about this program in a
user group. Check out the following link:
http://www.windowsusers.org/dir.html
I'd rather not send e-mail with an attachment everytime somebody asks so I uploaded it for people to download at http://webpages.charter.net/omniverse/downloads/dir.zipCould I please ask for a copy of the program?
Thank you very, very much.
