Very nice, with those huge eyes! That flash did a good job (and you, of course..)

This goose is rare in North America although common enough in Europe to be hunted (try a you tube search for pink footed goose), breeds in Greenland and Iceland. This one showed up here (St. John's Newfoundland) early this week. It is the 8th record and the first since 1995.

Hi Jerry:

Guess that was you I saw at the Quidi Vidi on Sunday morning. You are the first other person I have seen with this lens. I love mine and it is my most used birding and other wildlife lens. The more you use the 70-400 the more you will like it. It is capable of incredibly sharp pictures as you get used to it. With our light, or often lack of it, a tripod is often helpful. Keep at it.

at first I thought it was the old grey goose that's a permenent resident at the pond, but now I see the difference.

I guess it was me you saw at the pond last Sunday AM - just trying out the 70-400G and getting a feel for how best to take advantage of its strengths.

BTW, are you aware we have an actual Camera Club in the city? Here's the link to our website. I'm off to a meeting right now, as a matter of fact. It would sure be nice to have another Sony shooter there. So far I feel a bit lost among all the Nikon (and the occasional Canon) shooters :)

Come check us out at the next meeting!

Sony V1, H5 and A350... Still learning...

Very nice set Owen. I like the Hover-fly and Jumping-spider shots. The spider is saying "Look into my Eye's" then he/she bites you =)

Was out practicing my Landscape shots with the a700 and Sony 16-105. Parting shot of some Pelicans

Nice detail on the shot, and a very nice lens, out of my $ range =(

Love the shot and the expression on it's face. Instead of saying 'Who" I think it was saying "Doh, what was that noise."

´In this family´... Very possible indeed. Other quotes I get most often tell me about the Larch Tortrix - Zeiraphera diniana. The only problem I have with that from all I found so far, is that they seem to keep that fresh green tint up to maturity. Found another in a juniper meanwhile, still a conifer. :(

A variety from up the hill. A700 w/Tamron 200-500mm & Sony 70300G. A350 w/Sigma 70mm:

A very nice shot of those pelicans, with the man in the backgound. Perhaps it could benefit from a little straightening and brightening. The scene and moment are beautiful!

Nice set Owen. The flash really worked wonders on #3 - my favorite. And, that macro really brings out the detail.

Question: What do you do all week?
Answer: Mon to Fri. Nothing, Sat & Sun I rest!

You have some nice shots there Mike, but IMO, you should back off a little on the sharpening.
