I have several video clips and still images on a CF card. Everything has imported to iPhoto via my card reader except one video clip I've isolated. It causes a popup saying "your image could not be uploaded due to an error with the image." This clip plays back fine on the camera, and other clips from the same time frame/cf card uploaded fine.

I also tried to import directly to iMovie, but when I go to select the clip from the CF Card, that particular clip is grayed out and won't let me select it. The other clips on the card seem available and fine.

Any ideas of the problem or workaround?

Thanks!

I'm not as conversant with Apple stuff, but here's an thought. If you have a file recovery program (some CF cards come with them) you might try to get it back this way. Of course some of these programs may work in WIN only. The fact that it works in camera means it's not a hopeless case.

Download MPEG Streamclip. Open the program and select the clip from your CF card. File --> Import Using Quicktime --> Change compression to H264; Quality 100%; Sound AAC 128-bit 44.1; Keep frame size equal; Uncheck "Interlaced Scaling".

Shouldn't be a problem importing to iPhoto after that. Good luck!

I am not an apple user although it seems logical enough that iPhoto is designed to import still images - but you would think that iMovie would assist in managing video files.

I don't think the apple software included with the camera includes zoombrowers but perhaps you could try using the EOS utility to download the files. The PC version of EOS utility will allow you to download files from your memory card but your camera will likely need to be tethered to the computer.
