DPreview style M9 Review?

Hi,

I'm wondering if there are some technical review of the M9 out there, particularly with regards to ISO performances.

I have read Steve Huff review and I liked is down to earth photographic approach but it wasn't of much use to me.

Let me explain, I am not going to acquire the M9 (although I wih I could) but as part of my work I am going to use a camera with the same sensor. I would be very interested to evaluate the noise level of this sensor at higher ISO values and how it degrades details.

What other camera uses the same sensor?

Part of the issue with evaluating noise is the in camera corrects the M9 (or any camera) for that matter makes. Leica partnered with a sensor software team to help bring down noise levels on its CCD sensor and seems to have tweaked some alogithms on its M9 firmware update, having to do with processing noise at the RAW level. Thus, your question is difficult, if not impossible, to answer.

Best of luck with this new camera (I am not aware of any other camera that uses the full frame Kodak CCD sensor; are you working with a prototype?)

I see what I can get out of this and whether it will apply to my problem (I am aware of the tweaked RAW issue)

As for what camera it is, well it is a industrial high res camera I'll use for research purposes, it's not strictly the same sensor as in the M9 but I suspect they have a lot in common so M9 perf might be an indicator of what to expect.
