Hello,

I need to see some photos that taken by EF 75-300mm f/4-5,6 III - 4x. I could not find in the web.
Could you help me?

Do you have one or are you looking at buying. If you haven't bought one yet then that'd be an easy one to skip. It's probably the worst telephoto lens that Canon makes. The 55-250IS is a much better lens, for not much more than the 75-300. The 55-250IS is the least decent lens that I'd suggest to a customer. I had always talked people away from the 75-300. The 70-300IS is great, but people don't understand how one can cost so much more until you see the difference in optics and image stabilization.

I don't have it yet and I decided to buy one. But it seems it is better I ignore about it.

I agree that the 55-250 IS is a much better choice. The 75-300mm focus is slow, prone to lots of CA, sharpness isn't the greatest, requires lots of light for decent results. If you absolutely can't afford anything else, it's a good starter lens. That said here are a few random shots from the 75-300 (since you asked). :)

220mm F5 1/640s ISO 100

300mm F5.6 1/800s ISO 800

80mm F14 1/100s ISO 200

290mm F8 1/1600s ISO 200

Thanks for shots.
I have not bought my DSLR camera yet and I want to decide between

and

Which one is your suggestion?

Between the USM and non USM versions (same optics).

When I tested one several years back (along with a 75-300IS), sharpness was good in bright light but it's besetting sin was purple fringing:

I'd also say don't use a UV "protective filter" by default with this lens. A number of people have reported issues with focus/flare and other IQ that improved when the filter was removed.

I'd also say the 55-250 is a better lens: has IS, smaller, and you will not miss the extra 50mm in real life.

Its heavy and struggles to lock focus at 300mm end. Image IQ is ok, when it locks focus. 75-300 III feels better than the 55-250mm because its build. I'd say that the 55-250mm is better only because it newer and has IS. A pitty its lens mount is plastic. 75-300mm is ok but- slow.
