Ha ha... don't tempt me. It still reeks, and I have had it sitting out since I started this thread. I did take it out to try to do a bit of shooting the other day, but all I was able to get were some shots of one of our cats and some melting snow. We have a loony cardinal hen who attacks her reflection in our windows, and that particular day she was fighting with one of our cars' side mirrors, but once I had my camera she disappeared. I think the birds are thinking that I have a gun or something.... (it's the Tammy 200-500). I'm pretty busy right now, so I will just let the thing sit there some more and hope that the smell will eventually dissipate. You already got some good and useful tips here!
If nothing else works: boil it for 24 hours in eau-de-cologne. (You may add some garlic as well). It will never ever smell of smoke again on your camera!
