Hello, i use my D30 since many months especially for landscape and cities photos.
I have 2 big big problems

1- I can take any king of framing attention, all my pictures does not have an horizontal

horizon (like having a sky). When i look in my viewfinder the picture is correct, but not on my final picture.

I posted a picture on pbase with such problem. You will see that the left side is to high (up)

of around 5degres. What happen ? my ccd is not correctly aligned ? or my mirror ?

The picture : http://www.pbase.com/image/5142224

2. When i use a circular polarizer, the sky is not homogene. It begin with a deep dark blue and

gradually become more clear. Why ? (see same picture before .. i use a Tamron 28-200à

Big thanks for your help
(sorry for my bad english)

Hi Guy,
It looks like you need to send it in to Canon for repair.
Also send a copy of the photo to help them.

good luck

Hi Guy,

If you have not tried a tripod, I would recomend trying a tripod and using spirit levels to make sure the camera is aligned correctly.

With respect to the blue sky issue, I would suggest taking more pictures with the polarizer at different positions and then making the comparison.

The easy way: angle your camera accordingly: say 5° counterclockwise!!!
Well, I know, just a joke.

More seriously, what does it look like inside the camera. Such an angle should be visible: I mean you should see the sensor misaligned with the body. If it's the case, I guess a trip to Canon repair is mandatory.

This is kind of expected result (pure physics!). This is main reason one should not use strong polarizing setting with wide angle.
