I'm trying to decide between the s230 and the s330:

330: 3x zoom, 2 megapixel
230: 2x zoom, 3 megapixel

Here's what I'm going to use it for:

Snapshots (vacation, girlffriend, special events, family gatherings, etc.) but I did enlarge 3 pictures (film) from a vacation long ago and had them framed. So, occasionally that might happen again.

Price is not a factor. Going to Europe Oct. 18, tho. Recommendations? Thanks!

Simple... with price not being a factor - if you can find the S230 by Oct 16th - get it. Otherwise, the 330 is still a very very good camera. 2MP gives you excellent 4x6" print and pretty good 8x10" prints

The S230 in reality is not going to be that much of a change from the S200. It will probably capture more detail with the extra resolution. Maybe it might exposure/focus a little better with the DIGICS chip. Might have a little bit more battery life. Then it again, it might not... but I seriously doubt it will go backwards in built quality or be worse than the S200 in any category (for those who complain that the S110 is sharper, I reply that's just a sharpening algortihm and is a minor niggle in my opinion).

Hi Oren

I have the Ixus V2/S200 and would simply point out that everything Arvin says about the S300 also holds true for the V2/S200...I know the V2 only has x2 zoom while the S300 has x3 but, in reality, we're talking about taking a couple of paces forward to compensate...Plus, although it may not seem much on paper, in reality the V2/S200 is noticeably smaller in the hand and pocket than the S300...

If you cannot get the V3/S230 in time, my advice would be to get the V2/S200, not the S300...On the other hand, I'm absolutely confident that you'll be well satisfied with either...I'm constantly surprised by the quality of image produced by the V2/S200 and I don't doubt that images from the S300 are equally as impressive...

Best of luck whichever you choose
