Wow, there are some great entries here so far. Show us yours if you haven't already.

Some entries are of people/animals. I fairness to others who have complied with the "must be man made" statement and examples (first two posts) I really can't consider those as 'official entries.' That said, those are still very fine photos of old 'things.' If you'd still like to enter a photo(s) of non-living objects please do so. We'd love to see them.

Keep 'em coming--make my final decision-making even harder than it already is. :)

An old typewriter I found in a winery...

Shot on July 10, 2009

with my Canon XS with my Canon 18-55mm IS lens set to 30 mm, at f4.0, 1/60th sec, ASA 400

This "haunted house" is nested between two wineries among the 20 or more wineries on River Road. Taken on May 2, 2009 with my Canon XS, Canon 18-55mm IS kit lens 33mm, F11, 1/200th sec, ISO 400.

The street I grew up in, from 0 to 10 years old. I know every stone and every corner of this street and I've played until my knees bled, my shins bruised, my first ride on the bike. I remember I've almost set the house on fire and tried to douse it with one small cup of water. Playing tag and war with pvc tubes and paper darts with needles around the cars and many other games, skateboarding and nearly getting scooped by a car. Snowball fights and peashooters, nearly blinding one of my eyes. Good memories this ole' street :)

Well, here is my first attempt at trying something artsy with a camera. I have no doubt in my mind that I'll probably be at the lower end of the challenge but the feedback will be well worth it.

This was from a place on my family's property that used to be something of a dumping ground. To my knowledge, this tricycle hasn't been touched in years, and it's been there for decades.

Really? Wow, I thank you so much for the compliment. Honestly, I just pulled it away from the wall a few inches, opened up the front door some so some outside light could come in, set up the camera and fired away. This was the best out of the 10 or so that I took.

I'm sorry, I didn't write down the shutter speed, f-stop, ISO etc.... Is that information available somewhere on the camera or on the downloaded photos?
