Great movie. One of my favorites this year. If you consider yourself a photography enthusiast go see this movie. Robin Williams is a great loony.

One of my favorite quotes:

"A parent who doesn't take pictures of their children, especially when they are small might be considered indifferent, negligent."

Synopsis: Sy Parrish is a lonely photo technician at the local SavMart one-hour photo counter who develops an unsettling obsession with long time customers, the Yorkin family, with whom he invents a familial connection.

I really enjoyed it too. But it gives me one more reason to go digital :).

Just saw it last night. I wasn't impressed.

To each his own.

How could a movie with lines like this not touch you?

"I'm sure my customers never think about it, but these snapshots are their little stands against the flow of time. The shutters clicked, the flash goes off and they have stopped time, if just for the blink of an eye. These little family snapshots might be all that stands between us and total oblivion. And if these pictures have anything important to say to future generations it's this; I was here. I existed. I was young, I was happy and someone cared enough about me in this world to take my picture. Most people don't take snapshots of the little things, the used band-aid, the guy at the gas station, the wasp on the jello but these are the things that make up the true pictures of our lives."

I agree with Sid on at least one thing. Digital is going to put him out of business. Maybe he can go on and manufacturer buggy whips.

The cinematography sucked. Ironic, a movie about photos, has the worst cinematography that I've seen in a long time. Sex and the City, and the Sopranos, are both filmed a lot better than this feature movie.

The character of Sy Parrish, Sy the Photo Guy, was very well done. Robin Williams is a very good actor.

The story went nowhere. After the movie was over, the feeling I had was this was a moving about nothing.

It was still a worthwhile movie. I'm glad that the summer is over, now movies for adults can find their way back into the theaters.

For G-d sakes, don't tell me how it ends.
I waited on line at the theater 2 hours to see 'Titanic'.

As I was about to go in, someone who had just seen the movie shouted out, "The boat sinks in the end."
Ruined the whole thing for me.

After seeing this movie, me n wife wondered: would this movie boost digital frenzy. Should we invest in memory storage like Lexar and Sandisk while prizes are low.
I enjoy Robin Williams in any serious films. This one and Good Will Hunting
should tell his caliber as a serious actor.
At first I was afraid of him (role), then I admired him last. For his restraint
and his planning.

For anyone who shoots in traditional films and drops them off, this movie will have you thinking twice.
Highly recommend.

Just a poll: would this movie have you investing in anything related to digital photography?

And then spends the next 10 minutes trying to adequately make the black on black theme photograph correctly :-)

You may want to ask this in a film forum as I think this forum is biased toward digital. ;-) I don't subscribe to the paranoia. Why would anyone need your address to develop film? I would just give a fake address. I do know that many film processing stores have a "wall of shame" where employees post funny, interesting customer photos.
