Challenge 3 - CHAT - Divergence

steve - i too used to cook things in the microwave at college... :)

the best thing by far is crisp packets (or potato chips to you US chaps) - the ones with the foil for freshness inside - by getting the timing just right, you can shrink the packet to the size of a matchbox, without ruining the design too much, so you end up with loads of mini packets. call us sad or very bored, but we had a great collection of tiny crisp, nut and other inventive packets on our wall, they look really cute and you can still recognise the brand...
Steve, just really curious as to where the idea to do this
came from, are you perhaps a mad scientist who was restrained
by his parents through his youth. Just a guess.

That's a great example of divergence! I watched my lab go out for stuff on the water many times, so it brings fond memories. My dog is in heaven when we do it (which isn't often here in the SW desert.

Willie is a yellow lab and he is in heaven too, when he is in the water....I am lucky enough to be close to lots of it, we have over 1200 lakes in our county alone........... very intrigued BTW with your CD / Micro experiments, I love the color you produced, I can see a lot of background design opportunities with that process.................;-)

Well, looks like we're off and running once again, with a couple of very nice examples! Being an old country boy I really like your dawg Cappy. I have had my entry for a week or so but I think I'll wait and see a few more examples first.

BLACK AND WHITE

This is going to be another tough one!

I personally cannot take black and white photos for peanuts...
- -

I'm sure a lot of people will learn a great deal from the more experienced photographers in the next challenge.

Start thinking/shooting now! Photos from yesterday (Friday 20th) are valid!

Happy day.

How did you and your boyfriend like it when you came second?

I read the other day where you said you were both rather surprised and excited when you reviewed your photos and saw the one that you ended up entering.

Have you got something lined up for this Challenge?

[if you do, you are doing better than me! :-) ]

Yours sincerely,
Michael Offe,

Did you see your photo on the Winner's page I put together tonight?

Very cool. Thanks for making that!

Hi Cappy,
It is meant to be 7pm US central time.

It says in the rules that all times quoted are 7pm US central time... but maybe it should be specified each time.

I will ask Dave if he can do so in the future.

Yours sincerely,

I noticed that you state Monday evening of the 30th, as a deadline.
I was wondering if you thought that you may want to add a specific
time on Monday evening.......... I have learned my leason not to
procrastinate, but it may be helpful to others..........

I remember we used to do this at school (ummm, a couple of years ago). It became the "in" thing to have these little chip packets dangling from your schoolbag. We used to use a normal oven tho (I did say it was a couple of years ago).

LOL!

I can remember my older sister doing this! (I was about 10 at the time...) After seeing the results of this wonderous reaction, of course I had to try it...

Some friends came over (with empty packets of chips), and rather than using the microwave or conventional oven, I had the smart idea of using the grill... Enough said, it took a couple of days to get the smell out of the house...

Now it has turned to CD's!!! What has come of this world?!?! What will we be putting into our ovens next for personal enjoyment???

Can we use PS actions to convert color images to B&W? I mean, Tri-X like actions and such things..., or should take images with the B&W mode of the camera?

Oooppss. I missed that the last time. I don't want to make anymore work for you guys than your already doing......... Thanks

Hi John

If it is for a black and white photo then we might need a small change in the rules for this one :-) As you rightly stated not all Nikon cameras have a black and white mode - on the 5700 there is one (had to rtm though to find it caus I don't normally go for black and white). If the rules are changed can I use a converted IR photo :-) :-)

Now got to get back to divergence - this one is a major headache for me as I have no inspiration for the time being :-(
Keep snapping
Paul
