I love shots of trains and trains in general

In this case, I think the color one looks a lot better to my eyes,

the B&W one was a bit too bright and the sky was distracting due to being too brignt. just my 2 cents

No particular reasons, I just shot both ways and found it was better vertically.

Thanks! Glad you liked it, as it is a bit extreme.

I used a plug in program called Topaz Adjust:

Inside Adjust I used a Preset called "Smooth and Flat."

I then cranked the exposure down until it looked suitably dark and gloomy.

Probably too dark and gloomy for some, depending on their monitor.
