Thanks god we have only decimal system. If we used hexadecimal instead, we could await another load of undistinguishable models like Aplha 1100, 1200, 1300, etc.

Particularly when they then sell it at Sony Style stores for A$12, saying what a good accessory it is - for the protection it gives your hot shoe.

I won't pay that price for such a basic feature, heck even Canon offer it on low end bodies, so do Pentax. We have eyes, Sony's way is a one hit wonder, that is not even working as we speak..others including pentax are outselling them hand over fist.

It's just to me there didn't seem to be much of a slot worth filling between the A380 and A550.

Is there a chance it could also be considered (perhaps mistakenly) as a "light" version of the A380 as well?

So the point is this camera has a lot to ooffer (like the A550) but it is cheaper. So you have to trade in some of the goodies of the A700/A850/A900 Like Hotshoe cover (do other brands offer that on there cheap cameras?). But it do offer almost all of the goodies from the A550 for a better price.... That could be something!

Do we really need 6 models for newbies?

I suspect not..

If this is such a sales winner, we would have seen Canikon on it ages ago..they know the game better than Sony do, yet they don't follow this path.

so if you love canons and nikon cameras so much buy one.... of course you wont half you life will disapear.

Up until the demise of the a700 - Sony were offering 4 SLRs the 300, 500 , 700 and the 900 ...So agree i do not feel minolta would be at this stage if they were still in the game..

It's misleading, Sony is not at the stage you itemized. They are now much lower with little other than 6 beginner cameras.

why is the 400 - 500 a beginer camera ...
why is misleading ..... demize means gone ....

considering a standing start the amount of cameras is still a good go even if you do not like the models.

They have done something neither oylmpus or Pentax have done both established makes by making a FF camera..

Yes they could have done more and by not replacing the the a700 prior to its DEMIZE is a bit of a fopar.....so is it a bit of a fopar because i did not buy one when it was cheap.
