I had a D40x and recently got rid of it. One of the things was the AF motor limited lens choices. Many lenses are compatible with the D90 AF motor. Does the D5000 have the same AF motor as the D90 or will I run into similar issues on the D5000 that I experienced on the D40x?

The D5000 is the same as the D40x in that you must use an AF-S (or AD-I) lens if you want it to AF with the camera. The cam does not have a built in auto focus motor.

Thank you. This eliminates that camera from my list. I guess I am looking at the Canon T1i, Pentax K-x, and on the far far extreme end the D90.

The Pentax K-x has a very good review.
