I have a PC with 128MG memory Module, nVidia 16MG AGP Graphics Accelerator, 20.4GB 7200RPM ATA Hard Drive. I have downloaded and installed the latest graphics driver. Now Qimage in reading from either a Zip Disc or a CF card doesn't display the images correctly. The images - if they exceed in number- the size of the window will load until the window is full and then all, except the top row will go away. The remainding images in the top row appear smaller and without text. If the disc or card has fewer than a window full the images remain and are availble for use. Anyone had/have this problem? If so how do you correct it.

Richard,

I too have noticed the same thing. If there is more than a full window of photos, they all load and then vanish leaving only the top row. If you then click the down arrow they reappear having moved up one row. Very strange, and time consuming. Does not seem to be smooth, but choppy, execution of code.

Hope someone has a fix.

First of all get in touch with Mike Chaney of Qimage - his responses to queries and problems are rapid and excellent.

Secondly, I had a problem that might have been the same and was associated with the thumbnail font. Click "Options" and "Thumbnail font" and try a smaller font. I had troubles with font size 7 or greater but OK at 6.

Hi Sandy,

Richard and I both thank you for your help. We both tried your suggestions and problem fixed. This is the kind of stuff that makes these forums great.

Thanks again!

I guess sometimes my users know more than I do! I'll add this tip to the help and the notice on the homepage.

Thanks!

Not true! I had a similar problem a few months ago (I use an nVidia TNT2 32 Mb driver). You made a couple of suggestions and when they didn't solve the problem you suggested the alteration in thumbnail font size. Quite beyond me to think that one up on my own.

Really appreciate the help you give Qimage users.

Mike:

I don't care who found this solution--Sandy, Mike, John, or ??. The bottom line is the change makes Qimage work. Having spent far to many hours with several "experts" all leading to failure--this simple change of font makes digital photo life alive again. Thanks to -------.
