G11 for macro with ringflash?

I'm having fun with the G11. Thanks.

I'm suggesting a 360 degrees turn. The E620, even with the kit lens, should give you fairly good closeups. Tiltable LCD to boot.

Macro with the 14-42 kit lens of the E620 will cover an image of 75 x 56 mm, with a magnification of 0.23x, so I wonder why you made this recomendation?

Jeff,

I haven't ruled out the Oly (I still have the E-1 and the E-330). Just can't bring myself (yet) to getting the Oly 50 macro (which is a serious macro lens!) and more Oly lenses. Kid's college tuition coming up! The 620 is attractively priced, I must say.

Because Dodge was using the E3 with the 14-54 for his job. The 14-54 is rated at .25x, so the 14-42 should do the job.

The E330 should do a good job with it's live view. If it only had an articulated LCD screen. Why don't you get a 14-42 lens on Craigslist (for less than $100), and give it a try?

Why don't you send the kids to work?

Then you could spend your money on photo gear

(just kidding)

I have the 14-42 kit lens...I'l try it out.

(Kids work too but it's not enough...tuition for a semester is like an E-30 with 2K worth of lenses...not much I can do about it!).
