I'm certain I will get trashed for posting it by the Sony Slr forum but I'm thick skinned.

Take a look at this thread and have a good laugh... Very Non Productive post! Do you agree?

Thx to those of you who make this forum a pleasure to post on. Being civil to one another certainly is a skill and some have more to learn in the SLR forum...

God Bless, and My Wishes to all for a Safe, Productive New Year.

STF has, and hopefully always will be, a "family" type forum. There have been some rough tides now and then, but all in all, it's a warm home.

Take the scenic route! Life is too short to do otherwise.

but I can't agree more. I am so glad I found this group of people. Generally everyone is positive and encouraging, especially with a slow learner like myself. It is fun to visit with people all over the world too and see what life is like in other places.

the Sony soap Box instead....it seems to me some members spend so much talking that in my believe they wont have time to do any Photography at all.

the biggest mouths in there never show anything decent. ( maybe they are just talkers )

i know some people dont like my comments about the last few years marketed Sony P&S camera's .....but most of the time i'm allowed to have a different opinion.

friendly people is nice but there is a but in that......sometines the more critical ones can be ur best friends as well .....they make u think for ur self.

sure we all love praise for what we do, but i have learned in more then 30 years of Photography that my best friends turned out to be the critical ones ....i learned a lot from them.

till today i'm still not satified with what i produce and probably i never will.... it keeps my striving for the better.

For someone living in the Netherlands, you write pretty good English, much better than my Dutch. But then you spoil it - always - by writing "u" for "you" and "ur" for "your". As an example your reply in this thread contains some very pertinent points and is well written despite no caps. But then, IMHO, you destroy the strength of your message by stating ".....they make u think for ur self." That just makes me cringe.

May I ask in a very friendly sort of way, if you could accept this criticism and start writing "you" and "your" in your posts. I would then enjoy your posts so much more.
Thanks, Jack

I started here in 2003 - and for the most part find it a congenial - I still stop by. I moved to Sony SLR over a year ago when I bought my first SLR and found it comfortable and people quite helpful . . . until recently. Some folks are kind "ouchy" over there right now. The referred to thread kind of sums up the reasons.

I don't post a lot - and I don't post at all right now because it seems it is so easy to offend somebody. Hope it straightens out soon.

i think a lot of the native English speakers in these forums need to be corrected as well then.

i do know its you and your ect...... ( hopefully you dont counts the dots ) as i was paying attention at school.

the reason i'm in forums like these is for sharing photographs and knowledge about how to do it.

do i need to write Post Processing or can i write PP ( with your permission ) ?

if u don't like my way of using the English grammer, then feel free to ignore my posts.

hopefully you dont read my reply as offensive.......but i think you have tons of people to correct in the forums of DPR who are speaking English as native.

hopefully you will have time left to do something about photography.

not to much errors this time i'll hope.

we had such times in the STF as well, guess u might recall that, i think its a result of spending to much time talking instead of taking photographs.

or maybe the so called bigmouths are the most insecure ones and trying to trump others this way.

they debate to debate and never or hardly never show any proof of their so called skills.

Agreed - It's so bad, I'm even afraid to post this comment over there without getting flamed:

Some of the things they are beating and beating and beating on need to be mentioned once or twice but instead it is on an on about MLU and lack of hot shoe covers on cameras some of them don't even own. I used to not favor splitting that forum up by camera types - but not so sure any more.

Thanks for letting me vent . . .
