Today I got an used sigma 10-20 on ebay ("buy it now") at a very low price, a real bargain I hope...

In the description there any mention about lens mount, only a pix. I phoned the seller but he didn't remember wich camera the lens fit and his shop is closed till next monday.
Anyway I can return the lens within 10 days.

Looking at the picture the mount seems the same of my sigma 17-70(canon mount), but I read the sigma SA mount is quite similar.
Is this a canon one?

Thanks

Sorry for my English

On a Canon mount lens, there 5 metal contacts in the lower group. The one in the photo has 8.

That 8 contact one illustrated in the Czech article with a Canon camera is very odd. I have looked at several EF lenses, and they all have 5 contacts. In fact, I have specifically a Sigma 10-20 for Canon, and it has 5 contacts.

This listing has a photo of what a Canon EF looks like at the back:

However, the 8 contact one doesn't seem to be a Sigma SA one either, because this is what that looks like:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Sigma-17-35mm-2-8-4-EX-DG-HSM-For-Sigma-SA-Boxed-MINT_W0QQitemZ260526636231QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCamera_Lenses?hash=item3ca898fcc7
I looked on my local page:

http://www.fotoradce.cz/recenze-objektivu-sigma-10-20-mm-f4-5-6-ex-dc-hsm-clanekid34

and it seems that mount is identical to your picture reference. Therefore it seems that this is Canon mount. :-)

Well from what I can see in the review I posted link for, it have also 8 contacts and it is mounted on Canon body. But you might be right, maybe they used some other pictures there, even if that will be strange behavior.

...the picture of so called reporting, 11-pin Canon contacts - they are
used in L lenses which can accept teleconverters (like 135/2L, 200/2.8L,
400/5.6L etc.), bit strange on 10-20 Sigi, but... stranger things can
happen :)
