Just showing off my latest model boat under construction, a Slo Mo Shun speedboat from the 1940's

The effect is achieved using card and artistically applied paint!

Hope somebody will like it, Bob.........V-Lux1

Thanks Mike!

Where you mention the MK2 V-Lux, I assume, you are referring to the big repair job?

As a matter of fact, the new lens is constantly impressing me these days?

Thanks for dropping in.......Bob

Several months later..............V-Lux 1..... ( What a splendid camera this is )

No stuff inside yet......There's no rush

Bob

Bob, that looks brilliant, you have a real talent for model making. I could never even finish an Airfix kit without it being covered in big blobs of glue. I don't think I ever got as far as painting one.
I'm looking forward to shots of the maiden voyage :)

Best wishes to you and your family this Christmas.

All the best
Mike

Hi Captain Bob,

I missed the original post on this; must have been away!

The boat looks great, photographed in a shipyard, with the Great Eastern in the background. I think that you did a great job on the "wear & tear" but my only minor criticism would be that with all that wear and tear on the boat, the inside of the exhaust should probably be black? I wouldn't like to turn into a "rivet counter" however :)

I hope that you have not been affected too much by the bad weather that seems to be hitting UK at present.

All the Best to You and Yours for Christmas and the New Year.

Cadder

Hello there, Cadder, you little rivet counter, you!

I've yet to mucky up the exhaust pipe......It looked so nice......It's actually made from my old tripod legs!

All the best to you, my M8!....and have a happy Christmas and NewYear

The snow is quite bad this year, but not by your standards of course!.......This will be the first year, we've not gone to Sainsburys for the Christmas shopping..........I believe it's total chaos down there, due to snow and the shopping hordes!

Cheers................Capt Bob

This really looks the business, Bob. When will we see it afloat? Good to see the old V-Lux serving you so well.

Here’s wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Robert

Thanks Bob

It's a few months off, for the sailing, haven't sorted the drive system yet

Spending a lot of time, making it look good!

Anyway......Baby, it's too cold outside!

Yes!.......The V-Lux does an excellent job!

Bob

Hello Nomad, you've been quiet lately, good to see you posting again.

Lovely ships and I admire your dedication to detail. I take it that this 'slo mo shun' is some sort of speedboat, right ?

Anyway, Merry Christmas, Bob !

........................................................................................................
Bart

Hello Bart

Thanks for dropping in!........The original Slo-Mo-Shun speedboat was built in the USA, about 1949 and it held the water speed record for a short time

I wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year

Have a good one!.........Nomad

Hope you chaps don't mind me boring you with my model boat again?

This is the latest state of play..........The driver is now animated electronically to turn the wheel in synch with the rudder mech and is very amusing......the kids will love it!

Capt Bob

She looks like it will FLY!
