Expectant father of new S2

Thanks Mike......and everyone.

The S2 arrived today as scheduled. And the kit DOES include the AC adapter (and the Hyper Utilities disk of course, too). Calumet apparently had inaccurate information about the adapter no longer being part of the package.

Haven't had much of a chance yet to work with the camera, but my first impression is, Wow! what a difference from my E-10. Not as rugged obviously as the E-10's metal case.....but the S2 has a perfectly wonderful feel. (Anyone else have a bit of concern though about the flimsy covers and latches on the card and CR-123A bays?)

Going to be very busy learning all the new functions over the next several days.

Exciting times!

Best wishes,

David

Shows a part#, but has TBA for the price. Says to me its not
available yet in the US. Tell them you will be shooting mostly
tethered, you had expected the AC adapter to be there, and that you
need one right away. Heck, tell'em that you CCD is really dirty
right out of the box and you need an AC adapter right away so you
can clean it....

I am of the personal belief that if you give it to one, you should
give it to all. To suddenly pull it out seems kinda crooked to me!

Hi,

I have been following posts on this forum for quite some time
now.....while debating (endlessly) between the D60 and S2 as an
upgrade path from my trusty E-10.

Today I took the plunge and ordered the S2, to be delivered in the
morning.

Lots of great folks here on the forum (as there are on the Oly SLR).

Looking forward to getting to know many of you as time goes on.

I have one small question at present: when I placed my order I was
somewhat chagrined to learn that the AC adapter is not included in
the kit (USA model).......I had understood that it would be. The
vendor said that Fuji originally WAS including the adapter, but
recently has stopped doing that.

Where would be the best place to buy the adapter, and how much does
it cost?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best wishes,

David

I raised the CR123 door issues some month or more back. A few people where quick to point out this is the door/hinge provided by Nikon and in use on quite a camera's. Appartly despite its loose feel it holds up quite well..

No problems with mine so far and about 6 weeks or so.
