I finally did it! I got my first 16 x 20 from the S2, I am so amazed! I had the photo made at Millers via the Internet upload. I have about 60 photos in my studio ranging from 20 x 30 to 11 x 14 all shot with a medium format camera and this S2 photo really is the gem of the studio. I am not making any excuses like saying for a digital photo it looks good I am saying comparing it to the medium format pictures it looks as good or better. I have looked at the photo from 2 inches away and I cannot see ONE THING that would make you believe this is a digital photo. the skin tones are amazing the detail is astounding damn it looks fine! I don't see any moire in the hair which was my main concern. I really believe now more then ever the S2 is the camera to own!

Hi Jim,

Great to hear that. Have my S2 for 2 months now but still has no prints, used some pictures for offset printing and the quality was also superb. We have a superb camera in our hands with the S2. I love it to. Great to hear to compared to medium format it can even equalise that quality. All the best.
With very kind regards,

Cool, I had a 30x40 made at Creative Color in Tampa and it's hard to believe that a file with less then 90 dpi can look so good!!!

--Hi Dirk

You have got to get a photo enlargeed you will then realize what the S2 can do. I want to go bigger, I will pick out a photo and try 20 x 24 next. I would be amazed to see pixilation at this point. Also the photo I processed was from a fine large 12 meg file not a raw file. The 16 x 20 was 6 bridesmaids and a bride out side. the detail is fantastic, I shot this photo in the Cleveland botanical gardens and around the subject is large rocks and much foliage and the rocks have astounding detail, much better then what the photo looked like on my monitor screen. I actually removed 16 x 20 from my packages thinking that the S2 would not be able to do a good enough job. Boy was I wrong.

I was never able to get this kind of quality from my medium format work, simply because I was un-willing to pay for a top quality lab to do an enlargement or spend big bucks on a good enlarger and top quality lens.

All the new dslr's will do a nice job, but personally, I think the S2 has a slight edge in detail, combined with ergonomics that match my personal taste. I love those sweet Nikkor lenses!

Best regards,
Jonathan

It's all good, but some stuff is better.

What resolution file did you send them? Did you interpolate to larger size?
Which ICC profile did you use?

I've never printed or had anything printed before, quite curious to try it out.

Thats great. How about a little info, are you shooting raw? What size? If so, did you convert thru EX? I've been doing my own printing with a epson 1280, and getting superb 13x19 after a short learning curve.

What lens and aperature did you use for your 16x20 Jimmy?

Thanks,

--Ok, I used a tokina 20-35mm 2.8 ATX pro lens shoot at 12 meg fine "Not raw" at 5.6 60th of a second. I actually messed up and had the file sized to 8 x 10 but the file was about 20 meg.and Millers uped it to 16 x 20. I had them color correct since I don't trust my monitor settings. Millers address is http://www.millerslab.com/ I wish I could describe how fantastic the photo looks, I have been shooting weddings for along time and I guarentee I would not have thought this was a digital file.
