I think maybe it was a tactical error to choose this forum as the main forum for the challenge threads. I assume what we want is more participants - and it doesn't hurt if the participants has or wishes to have photography as an important interest/hobby. I just think the people we are seeking are more likely hanging out in the 7D/50D...10D/D60/D30 forum. A look at the statistics also show that that forum is the most active Canon forum here at dpreview, by far. So moving the challenges to this forum seems like shot in the foot, if what we want is an expansion of participants. It is no big deal to me, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. What do you think?

I'm all for listening to the voice of the challengers.

If we think we should be in the 7D forum then let's move there.

If we think we should live here in the CTF forum then let's stay here.

At one point it was suggested that we alternate forums but that was discarded as a bit confusing.

What does every one else think?

I agree with Olaf that we are missing out on a large portion of the DP Review population by only having the forum here at CTF. It would be great if there were some way to have the thread in one forum and then another thread in the other forums that would point to the main thread. That is a lot of work to keep going though and someone is sure to report us for bumping eventually. Given a choice I would vote for moving us to one of the other forums. ~ Sharon

I agree, even though I don't hang around in that forum much anymore. It doesn't make a difference one way or the other for me.

I do agree with Olaf
and do share his con-
concerns. OTOH, I do
find Sharon's idea of
having a second "link"
thread in this forum
too complicated (and
too much work for any
host). What I'd find
wonderful would be a
thread in the 7D/50D
etc. forum that could
be mirrored--and syn-
chronized--here; but,
as I don't think this is
technically possible, I
would vote for moving
the thread to the xxD
forum where it might
attract more partici-
pants!

Just my two cents
(of a Swiss franc).

I suppose it depends what kind of entrants you are looking for?

Since I hang mostly in the CTF, I would look here to read.

I never go to the 7D/50D...10D/D60/D30 forum since I don't have any of those cameras.

(I did participate in the pixel challenge a few time but searching back and forth for their post in which forum got confusing and old) Plus too many rules, I lost interest.

IMHO, keep it here, people who want to participate will know where to look if they want.

the correct fit but open a tread from time to time in the other forum(s) to discuss what's going on over here.

I found this thread via a teaser posted by "thefly" in the Rebel forum. I am going to post some entries just as soon as I can get a user ID and password.

I feel that notification posts in the other forums are the best way to attract users. If you post strictly in the 10D-7D forum then how will users in this forum find out about it? Or how will users in the Rebel forum know where to look? Keep it here and post notifications in any other forum that you wish to reach!

When you get down to the nuts and bolts of photography, the results depend on the 'nut' behind the camera!

See the 'Plan' in my 'Profile' for my current equipment.

I received mu User ID and password from Michael (Thanks, Michael!). Now I have a question. When I log into PBase, the upload box says that it will upload images to my "Inbox" I have photos for the Exhibition gallery. How do I upload to the Exhibition gallery or does someone else move it there?

Thanks!
