I paid $50 for it, here are some first test shots....

So far I like what I see, there's just something about the older Kodaks. WB is a bit warmer, the Schneider badged Lens seems very sharp, and unlike my M863, there is almost no noise in the deadly blue sky test. It has selectable compression; "fine" will yield images of 2mg on average (from a 5mg sensor!)
Your comments are welcome as it's always good to get a different perspective.

I don't know if anyone on KTF has one, but the viewfinder is very welcome. One pain is, of course, that button lock dial wheel. Given time, I think I'll get the hang of it, as it is stiff but doesn't bind. More later. rick

All I can say is it worth every pennies. Those older Kodak models were amazing. Except that speed is slower, write time is slower, might lack of some gimmicks, other than that the IQ still stand by today's standard.
Like the angles of your approach and composition, first rate.

Very nice photos...I wonder if it was similar to my Kodak Z740. I got so many nice photos from that camera. It preferred good lighting for the best images. Here's a few of them. I liked it a lot, but then came along my Sony H2 and my DSLR cameras, so it didn't get used as much after that.

I personally keep tabs on our local Pawn brokers. In the past I have found many useful and great items, which in many case the broker has even called to ask if we are interested in a particular item as well as hold items for us.

Right now is a great time to check the pawn shops.. persons are needing to buy other items for xmas and selling off unusable or less used items. Thou it may become very hard to locate any 35mm equipment at the Pawn shop. The smaller Dig cams should be readily available.

Thou One thing to keep in mind.. make sure the camera is not marked in any way. Some forget to check to see if the camera or items has been tabled or marked via the customer in an attempt to claim the item stolen.

I almost missed it, it was in the back of a display cabinet surrounded by several junkers. It is a bit slower to write, but not enough to make me foam at the mouth and as I get used to its ways, I can find work-a-rounds to speed things along.

I was looking at the images it produces and thought to myself: If I can get away from being a megapixel snob, I can get some really nice images from an older camera. About a year ago I was shooting a Z650 and had an image enlarged to 30"X40" on a pro printer and the print was just excellent, and I mean excellent.

It's the first one I found with an acceptable WA (33mm) which was what killed the 875 for me. And battery life is excellent with the KLIC5000! It may have the same sensor and processor as the Z740, I don't know. More later. rick

I quite like your images-I think the okder Kodak models take impressive photos.

I have a Z700 (with a Kodak made lens, 4.0MP) and it's mpressive because I like the DSLR-like design. Paid $30 for mine
