This morning I sent an email to Sigma wishing up to date info about the relationship between the 500 DG Super and the Canon 7d.

This is what I just recieved:

Sometimes mistakes happen. Why don't you send it again, with the text you posted, and give them a chance to make it right?

That is pretty odd.

Where did you get that email address?

Every time I've emailed Sigma through the address on their site ([email protected]), they've gotten back to me quite quickly.

EDIT: I just googled that email address, apparently it's some guy who works for, or worked for Sigma, at one point--it's possible that that particular employee no longer works there.

I'd send your message to info@... unless you know for a fact that [email protected] is still a valid address.

I did send my email to the contact info on the Sigma site which is info@......

but thats the response i recieved.... I'll try right now to resend to info@... and we'll see...

A young lady by the name of Desirée Gaige as contacted me from Sigma requesting more info.

It would appear that several people recieve the emails sent to the info@... address on the site as i also recieved a second "not read" response from Osamu Orata.

Glad to here it is resolved. Here is another little story about Sigma.

I found them to be very good. When I purchased my 50D I realized my Sigma Ring Flash would not work properly. They announced it and I sent mine in. They upgraded the FW and shipped it back to me for free.

Don't know if this is it but a blank subject line (if yours was blank as indicated) sometimes gets an immediate delete with some email systems.

Then you were quite lucky. I had two EO-TTL Sigma 500 DG Super and both couldn't be updated, one even had the required EO-TTL II designation on the box but not the body (but the serial numbers matched) - so no update was possible. Lost quite a bit of money on these darn flash guns. Will never buy from them again, the quality of their long term support really is below anything I have seen anywhere else.

Mine 500DG has been at sigma for 2 weeks waiting for the
firmware upgrade.

I have a 70-200 F2.8 that needs some service but I don't want to
lose it for weeks.

Going in the Panama rainforest at the end of January.... don't want to take the chance of sending it for upgrade and not having it come back in time.

I'll wait till I come back.

That is pretty odd.

That fellow is still there - he runs Sigma USA.
