Which of those 2 lens will suit better for GH1 picture and video?

14-140mm lens cost 2x more than 20mm 1.7. Is it really true there's loud noise when auto focus in 20mm? cause i don't see video that has that issue.

What site can i sell lens for decent price? how much would 14-1400m lens worth?

The 14-140mm is more suited for Home video due to fast focus, IS, continuous aperture control and silent focusing. In term of still, it is good as an everyday multi-purpose lens due to the long zoom range. Low-light will be a challenge.

The 20mm is great for still due to the "perfect" 40mm equivalent and fast f1.7 aperture. It's very good for MF videos. Focusing is noisy and you can hear the noise in the videos (I suspect those you don't hear the noise due to either MF or the original sound is replaced) although it's nowhere as bad as lenses from the C and the N companies. It's just a humming noise that is there if you hear it. Focusing speed is slower than the 14-140mm.

My suggestion is to have both. I have both and never regretted the decision.

Here are several videos that will show you exactly what each lens will do and what it will sound like. Personally, I no longer use a lens with a narrower aperture than 2.8 for video. The 14-45 and 14-140 just don’t work for my needs.

14-45 and 20 mm in silent room. You can hear the focusing here. However, it only shows up in a silent room. It is a non issue in all other situations

14-45 in bright light but with shadows. The 14-45 suffers when there is any sort of low light.

20mm hand held, no image stabilization, manual focus, and low light. Performed perfectly

Combination 20mm and 14-45 in low light. Can you tell which clip uses the 14-45?

Still looking for the video with the 14-140. You leave the impression that the 14-45 is an equivalent comparison when it's not.
Go on http://www.youtube.com or http://www.vimeo.com and search for GH1 14-140mm. It's the kit lens so there will be many.

No it is not an equivalent comparison. I never said it was. What I said is that the noise factor on the 14-45 is a non issue. Therefore, since the 14-140 is quieter it is even more of a non-issue.

Bottom Line is that with the m4/3 lenses focus and aperture noise is not an issue. Look at those videos and then compare them to every single other real world video and you will realize that you cannot possibly hear the noise from the lens in normal situations.

Interesting thread. I've done a lot of videos with the 20mm and while I can hear it focusing as I take the video, I've not heard when I've watched them. Perhaps it's because the mic is pointing up, away from the lens (on the GH1)?

I have yet to do much video with my 20, but I need to as the others here have shown how well it does! The 14-140 is great for the all around video, especially outdoors and with family. If you're indoors, that 20 will really shine!

It is pointing straight up on the GF1. The wind cut feature could also prevent you from hearing it.

I've both lenses and find that shooting video with 20mm pancake lens has a very small (in my opinion) operational problem.

I'm used to support the camera with my left hand under the lens. Here there is not much place for a supporting grip. Fortunately, all my pictures and videos came very sharp with this lens.
