Great shot, very poignant, lovely colors.

Thanks, Les

Impressive photo, I like Reese Cups, but those look a little dated, maybe chocolate improves with age? I really like this photo, speaks out to me in a way. I would be proud of this photo.

-- sadly you are correct about the Reese Cups looking somewhat the worse for wear. The store has been closed for a few years now. It was one of the “neighborhood” grocery stores where the kids could buy their penny candy and pick up a loaf of bread for mom on their way home from school. The owner is gone and the store sits as it was on his last day there. No idea what is left inside, I can only imagine!

Nice ,Pap !

This image has such a unique 'tone' to it...hard to describe.

Old looking,but not really....

Good job,and it was worth the wait, lol

Nice shot, Pap. As others have already mentioned, I like the colors, but also the textures of the wood and the dampness on the window.

It reminds me of my father's drug store, many decades ago, and the empty boxes of merchandise he used in the window.

It's sad that little stores like this have been replaced by malls consisting of chain stores that all look alike.
Great capture, and particularly great that you noticed it.

--I’m glad if I brought back a memory or two for you. And like you, very much miss the neighborhood stores. They were so much a part of growing up. Did your father’s drug store have stools at the counter and make vanilla phosphates? Coke with a bit of chocolate syrup? A post card rack of far sites and cities that you planned to visit one day? Ah, but we have Malls to fill in the gap…

--The colors are a new (for me) as I wanted an old look but not anything like Sepia, etc. So I experimented a bit in PS X2. I’m very happy that you like it. Obviously it wouldn’t work with all images but I thought it worked here. Thanks for taking note!

My father started working as a clerk in a drug store here in town in 1917. He was 14 years old, did all sorts of jobs there and ended up getting a pharmacist's license via apprenticeship, which was legal back then. In 1951 he quit and we opened our first drug store. Mother made her soup and chicken salad and brought it to sell. The building was about 10 x 30 and we heated with a large pot bellied coal burning stove. In my life I have made just about every kind of drink or edible at a fountain, starting in 1940 at a local drug store. Ah! The good "old" days...

--Thank you for that compliment. As you know, sometimes you capture an image that you are emotionally drawn to but aren’t certain if others will see it as you do. When it does happen you feel like maybe you have had some small portion of success.
