Turning off LCD on EP-1

Hi

The way i did it was to adress the FUNCTION button to BACK LIGHT OFF.
So when i use my VF i just hit the FUNCTION button.

I don´t know if you have turned on the meny display yet, and if not:
  • Go into meny and scroll down to meny 4 ( the wrench)
  • Scroll down to MENY DISPLAY and turn it on.
  • Go back in the meny and scroll down to the new meny 4 and go in to the BUTTON/DIAL meny
  • Go down to FUNCTION and choose BACKLIT LCD

Is there a way to automaticaly turn off back LCD monitor on EP-1 in a way that it can be turned back on by pressing any button? To save battery I am turning LCD on and off by pressing left Function button.
Isn't there a "eco" or power saving setting like on the GF1? The GF1's LCD can be set to switch off after 15s or 30s, and is woken up instantly by a shutter or any button press.

@ pER s , no problem ;)

no, there is not :( Or I didn't figure it out yet. There is only a "sleep" mode for entire camera ( 1m, 3m,....) but I don't belive it is very "battery life friendly" since every time you start it, you also start a SSWF (dust removal).

You can't turn the sensor cleaning off either on the EP-1? :(

The GF1 has a choice of either turning the camera to "power off" at similar time intervals as the EP1. Or you have (my preferred choice) of a LCD sleep mode of 15 & 30 seconds. The GF1's sensor cleaning is only activated (I think) in a manual fashion......so if you use the "camera off" route, there is no delay from a sensor cleaning operation when you wake it up.
