scarcity of CP 5700 accessories

I have a new CP5700 camera and like it very much but where in the world are the accessories for this camera. There seem to be plenty of extra lenses around but trying to get a hold of the extra battery pack or the AC adapter is worse than trying to win the lottery. What in the world is wrong with Nikon. Don't they give a damn about the customers or, for that matter, about making a little extra money. I have tried all over the place and everybody seems to have them on back order. I just don't understand these companies. Anyone else having problems? I have been to Ebay so forget about that. I have placed other orders only to receive Emails later to the affect that they are on back order. At this point will never buy another Nikon of any kind no matter how good it is. I have sent Emails to Nikon and those just reach deaf ears. No answers, of course.
 
I recieved my lens hood ,and AC adaptor, I am still waiting for my remote and nikon case, my last check was mid september "the word from nikon".

it is totally out of our hands,I keep telling myself" some day it will arrive".

I bought an AC adapter/charger out of Hong Kong- it's the US model but that was where I found it. The 5000 model also had a dry spell for accessories in the beginning- it's not uncommon. The cameras are the high dollar items that everyone is clamoring for- if the accessories were plentiful and folks were waiting for cameras everyone would be much more "peeved".

Thanks to all. I guess patience is the word. I will check out the jackscamera site to see what's there. I still think that if I had a business and couldn't manage to keep a supply of what I was selling, I would just close the doors.>

Thanks Greg, I did go to the site and filled out an order form and almost immediately received an Email saying that the MB E5700 is on back order. But, Steve has been very nice and expects them any time. He also can't find anything about the AC adapter EH-53. He doesn't even have a listing for that accessory. He is also checking up on the history of that accessory. I just can't believe Nikon is running this kind of business.

They have everything in stock except the Wide-Angle adapter, the rubber lens hood and the original replacement lens cap. Heck, they even have the Nikon brand camera case that's hard to find here in the US. Stock status is clearly listed per item and is up-to-the-minute. Just type in Nikon 5700 in their search box on their home page. Very reliable vendor unlike others in NYC...

He got most of my accessories. They get stuff in on a regular basis, if you told him you want one, he will get it to you.

I buy most everything from BH Photo and have never had a problem. An excellent vendor.

Try 17th Street Photo. (www.17photo.com). I bought UR-8 lens adapter and WC-80 wide angle lens there a month ago when things were REALLY scarce (they also had the battery pack). Delivery was fast with no hassles, better yet prices were good. I just checked their site and see the battery pack is on back order. Good Luck.

Thanks Jim. Just tried and they were out of the item I am looking for which is the battery pack. I guess I will just sit back and wait. Maybe, in time, Nikon will get on the ball.

I hear ya'. I wonder if there isn't some approach Nikon uses where they figure "sell x number of cameras, then put x number of accessories into the market place to support it, but first, SELL CAMERAS." ?

I have had luck in getting what I needed, from B+H (battery pack) as well as from Ritz Camera.
