Second hand M8

Hi

I'm looking for some more advice; I am looking at a second hand M8 tomorrow and I might get it.... What should I look out for? Are there any known issues that I should look for?

How much are you getting it for? From a brick and mortar store or online?

Hi, it's from a reputable Leica dealer in the North of England - mint condition with a mint Elmarit M 24mm f2.8 lens - £3000 for the combination. Silver, which I prefer. Does this sound okay?

Not sure about the second hand market rate at your area, but 3000 pounds is expensive for a used set though it's a really great combi. The price is worst if the 24mm elmarit is not the asph version complete with the finder,UV/IR filter and hood. For the price you are paying secure at least some warranty as things may go wrong with the sensor(like dead or hot pixels) or the viewfinder(plenty of electronics for things to go wrong). Get the dealer to throw in the grip and extra battery too )

They are going on ebay (body only) for about 1500 pounds. No idea what that lens is worth. My local bricks and mortar dealer has a mint m8 for 1899.
