Anyone street shooting?

My first posted photograph anywhere -- thank you so much for taking the time to look and comment. (Got a G1 a week or so ago ... totally and somewhat unexpectedly bit by the photo bug. Tripod and some other goodies arriving tomorrow.)

And that's what everyone focuses on. Not the fact that Nick is ripping Brian about street shooting. So I looked for a matter of 5 seconds at the image. That wasn't the point of my reply.

I wasn't being entirely serious as Brian realised. My apologies for any misunderstanding.

Brian gets his own back by taking my photo which he knows I dislike :-)

Ya, I've been around dpr a long time, but am still relatively new to the m4/3 group, so I'm still getting the dynamics straight. I love this group much more than the Canon/Nikon fun I've dealt with for so many years.

People here have a different level and type of passion.

All good shots.....but I too love that last one! It reminds me of an old b&w movie I recently watched. Wonderful! If I shot this one, I'd frame it. :-)

I really like that 2nd one..........love the color on all of them.

Tell you son he did a fine job here! He should post his work more often! :-)

Actually I never really did "street" shooting until I got the E-P1 and never did it again after I sold the first one. Hence the reason I have a new one sitting on my desk. OMG this thing should be against the law... wait... give the government some time and it will be :)

These are all candids from the street, mostly with the 45-200 Panasonic lens.

Just to say that this is a fine thread - interesting, lots of fun and some great images.

I do mostly street photography. I haven't posted many images (if any) on the M4/3 forum (lots of "old" stuff on different Canon forums and some from my LX3 on the Panasonic forum).

I'm somewhat "technically challenged" and I recently purchased a new computer with Vista (first time user). I installed PSE7, added Picasa - and I'm still getting through the learning curve of all of the above - and the EP1.

This thread is the incentive I need to get through it faster so I can get some photos uploaded and join the fun!

How about that one?
G1 + Jupiter-3

Pulled the camera out of my bag in time. I had no time to swap lense or get the perfect sharp focus, speed was of essence!
When I go the shot, the kid was not looking in my direction anymore. Oh well...

I shot these when I first got the EP1 - my first test photos.......before I started having problems with the new computer software. AND before I learned how to use the settings......probably all done on auto or "P" mode.

I should have posted a comment - I really do like the composition, and have come back to look at it several times. What were you using before your G1?
Brian
Nada -- I'm a painter; I make "realistic" paintings. The G1 is my first camera (my wife had a Canon A60). I have long and stridently resisted photography (I find it got in the way of the development of my painting skill). Now I'm completely infatuated. There are many hundreds -- perhaps thousands -- of specific photographs I've been waiting to take.

Right now I'm just trying to wrap my mind around exposure -- and the digital camera interface, which I find to be ... cumbersome. My sense is that a much much better interface for the digital camera is there for the making.

Thanks again for your comments. Composition is an interest of mine. I look forward to hearing what photographers think -- and joining what I hope is a regular discussion/showing of street shots.

(Should one resize one's posted images to 600 (?) px wide?)

Nicely done. (Sorry -- don't have more time to comment, but wanted to at say ... "I like.")

Nice shots but the one that jumped out at me was the wall, window and flowers shot.

Good as is or could be post processed a number of different ways as well. Cool color and composition.
