Some Semi Nude Outdoor Shot (4 images) - Warning!!!

I don't know Neil and I am not sure about that about the expression, I shot a lot of photos with pro model and I think I wan't some simple, plain, unadorned for this shot.

I don't want the model like, maybe Pamela Anderson, in this scene.
Hi Kesha,

I think there is some camera shake in these images.....my apologies, its viewer shake.

The only think i would like to see is a better expression of her face, one of teasing smile, i just feel that she looks unhappy, instead of inticing.

Never the less, the images are very well done.

Cheers Neil

Thank Herman, nice to know youwere live in Indonesia also..

I think I failed to show the tales in the shot, will try again for another photowork.
I really forgot that angel in one to another countries are very different look.

Really forgot that angel in our folk tales looks like just ordinary pretty woman and without wings, just 1 thin worn or shawl.

For C&C it is very useful for all of us to improve the photo's skill and I always open for that.
Hi Rusma,

Nice series, beautiful model and very nice location to begin with.

I can understand what you're trying to say from the series since I'm familiar with this Jaka Tarub story too when I was a child in Indonesia.

What some of our friends here said about lacking the correlation between image and story might be true though.

OTOH, not seeing and living in Indonesia with its native culture make it harder for them to see the story behind the image.

I am not an expert to give C&C here since I'm still learning too but I had lived long enough in Indonesia to understand about this story and the culture well enough, yet failed to relate this images to that story when I first saw it.

I hope you won't take this as a negative comment. You've been very welcoming in C&C so far, maybe that's why people here are very open with their opinion toward your work.
You have the talent and the passion so don't give up trying yet, my friend :)

Sincerely,

Without knowing the significance of the red cloth in the background story, I just looked at these images as a figure in the landscape series, and loved them. The only minor quibble I had, was the placement of her left foot in the middle image. It looked clumsy - for some reason, pointed toes always look better to me.

Now, having been given the background story I like these images even more. They do ell the story in my eyes at leasts. Thank you for sharing them.

haha.. I think I failed with this work.

btw, I show you the original photo of our ladies wear in Indonesia, we don't have 4 seasons and this cloth style is the only style along the year.

This is the orginal cloths, only from one worn and without underwear.

In the old day (100 years ago), they even didn't cover the breasts.

Rusma, if it takes two pages of text to explain an image, the image has failed.

Just my opinion.

Ohh.. thanks Eric, I think for the next photoshot, I will remember your C&C.

Yeah, I realize it is hard to understand the photos because of the different culture.

In the old day (50-100 years ago, and still for the old ladies or some area), they even didn't cover the breasts.

I like the photos, both the model and the setting are beautiful.

I liked the story too.

However, to be more in line with the story, perhaps a few pictures of her frolicking or splashing about like the young fairy playing with her sisters in addition to the pics you posted.

Maybe as a series, have a couple of her frolicking and playing in the water first than have these pictures with her looking more contemplative.

Just a suggestion, but I must say the pictures are magnificent as they stand now.

Good work.

Kesha - don't be discouraged by the comments. They're great - hullava lot better than most of us could do. If the semi-nudity is gratuitous, then so if almost everything else that appears in any photo. It's there because it's there.

Thanks JPSU for the suggestion and C&C,

Of course I have some shots that she was playing with water and smiling etc, but I preferred not to upload and share because her top was not covered.
At that scenes, she was almost nude.

Thanks Tim for your kind words,

Now I am glad there are more people knew our culture and famous Folk Tales and our fairy/angel shape (ours is not like the twinkle bell) :)

I am learning very many in this forum in years, really many thanks for the people in this forum.

Every people has different view and think about photoshots, never same.

I have a friend also, he is very strange in-took the pictures, the angle is very very weird, never level, all tilt and shift and don't mention all over over sharpness photos of him (halo, sharpness grain, etc), but he think that is the best for model shots.

Great shots, as always. You are very lucky to have such beautiful models and locales available. THanks for sharing. I always look forward to see what someone with skill can do with a model. I have taken some model workshops, and find posing a model to be a very challenging task.

PS, do you need an assistant?

I think you framed the shots well and used the scenery very well, the colour of her dress/wrap looks very good also with the background colours.. I personally don't feel anything for this model, her facial expressions bother me for some reason but I think is just personal taste..

The main thing out of place for me is the background in the first shot especially (but a bit in the others).. did you soften/blur the background in post processing, it just looks somehow wrong to me.. Could be I just don't like the DA50 OOF rendering too much, but I am curious to know if it is the natural bokeh or edited?

What I have seen here is some gratuite criticism about nudity, not criticism about photos. These pictures are great, and thinking about human body as an inadequate visison is not for me.
Thnks, Kesha, for sharing your lovely pictures with us.

Very nice pictures, in particular because it is wintertime in Holland.
Regards, Jan

The isolation from the background, the smooth light from left-above, the colors are all beautiful. What distracts a bit is the half-wet dress, the watcher wonders why she did not care for her clothes better. The other aspect extensively discussed here also distracts, maybe it had less done so without clothes.

You should be proud of your accomplishments, very good series of images, both the location and model are very beautiful. The only criticism I have is regarding the first photo, it's not much but I find the lower left and lower right to be slightly distracting; the blurry rocks stand out just a bit too much for me. The last one is a good one and full of other potential, such as b/w of all kinds :) I do like your natural approach and minimum (required) PP.
