I noticed it today yes. My opinion is that this is quite unpractical design and for sure does not allow you to reduce camera shake with your hands. Plus. Where one can connect such a camera to a tripod ;)

Interesting design. Should work well for those who have a third hand for working their zoom lenses.

And they show it with an old manual focus lens mounted. Go figure.

Or maybe it will be launched with the new EZ mount (Electronic Zooming), :-)

This may help speeding up the focusing in video mode.

Am I joking... or Canon is?

That's because it's a non-existent camera. Purely a mock-up.

The interesting thing to me is the lack of a pentaprism. Panasonic is plunging into the realm of the electronic viewfinder DSLR (with an EFV that's as crisp and clear as an optical VF). The advantage is that lenses don't have to be retrofocus (to make room for the mirror), so the whole package is smaller, like a rangefinder camera. Panasonic can afford to do it, since, unlike Canon and Nikon, they don't have a huge inventory of retrofocus lenses, nor do their customers.

Another interesting note on the Panasonic EFV DSLR's (unlike the Canon Nova, which is clearly vaporware), they're deliberately styled to look like "old-fashioned," pentaprism SLR's. So as not to scare the horses...

I think there will a lot of SWAT teams activated during the first month of it's release :)

My daughter bought a shower head that looked a bit like it, but it broke.

If a person put a spring between the two handles (?) you could use it for arm exercise, or to exorcise Nikon demons. I can't imagine pointing it at anyone human.

Like the Joker said: Why so serious?

Since when do we buy a camera based upon how it looks, anyway?? At least not the real photographers...

Perfect camera for hockey fans - elbows flying into faces of people seated either side of you (hopefully opposing team fans!).
